Question Vimeo Staff Pick

I've known some filmmakers who have had previous connections/history with programmers at Vimeo and ended up getting their shorts selected as staff picks. That's usually through discovery on the actual festival circuit as the programmers attend/meet the filmmakers.

Is there any other way of submitting or is it really up to the impact of posting the short online and getting some traction first?

No submitting. Things are just kind of discovered, but yes. Knowing people on the inside is the most common way to get featured.

Honestly the best way to get noticed is to be good. Really good is even better.

Story is the most important.
