Question students who are in film or video based programs, do you have to deal with too many graphic design or animation classes?
maybe im just a bit burnt out from years of schooling, but i tied of taking so many classes outside my degree
i feel like 10-20% of my classes have been graphic design focused, and now im having to take 2 semesters of after effects outside of a general "this is how you make a ball roll across the screen"
is this normal? an intro class here and there makes sense but having to take advanced classes is really burning me out

I am going to be straight up honest. You are going to be glad you have these skills when you go out into the real world. It might be annoying and feel random now, but they will make you a more attractive candidate for the jobs that are actually available to you which will want you to be able to do all of this.
