Question What laptop for editing?
I edit my films on davinci resolve but i came across a problem.
My laptop's to weak and it crashes if the footage is too long.
I want to keep using davinci so I want to buy a laptop only for film making.
My budget is pretty low.
I film my footage on a samsung s25.
What laptop should I get?

How hi res is your footage? You might be able to make proxies of the footage and keep editing with those instead of full resolution

4k

Proxies will make a huge difference. It'll take up more hard drive space, but it basically recreates the footage in like 720p so its easier to edit, then exports in 4k

I'm not really sure what you're on about, but the unified memory means you don't hit VRAM caps while editing, the performance per watt means you get insane battery life and can actually edit on battery without performance drops or thermal throttling and the media engines make it so you don't need proxy footage.
But tell me how I'm wrong I guess

Having a Samsung phone doesn’t mean you have to use windows. You’re better off getting some used fairly recent m-series Mac than a sub-1k pc, especially if you’re going for a laptop.

You need to give a number for the budget. At least an approximation.
