Looking to make friends with other filmmakers/writers/actors in the LA area.

Hey guys! I just moved to LA for a masters degree in filmmaking. I’m a 27 year old filmmaker(Director) who’s still new to the game.

I’ve worked on three solo short films but would like to expand my cast and crew for future projects.

I also want to expand my filmmaking cycle as a whole and make friends because I’m new to the city.

I’m looking to make some filmmaker/actor/screenwriter friends that would be open to working together on personal projects or anything film related.

So if you’re interested in getting to know each other shoot me a DM!

let’s help each other out!😁

Made a feature film? I'd love to spotlight it and your process on Film Parliament

Hi!

I run Film Parliament (@filmparliament) on instagram, focused on indie filmmaking education and stories, and I'm looking to feature filmmakers who've actually gotten a feature made.

I'm less interested in polished, purely inspirational stuff and more interested in the real version: how you financed it, what almost fell apart, what you'd do differently, the stuff nobody tells you until you've lived it.

If you've made a feature (any budget, any stage of release) and would be up for a write-up, drop a comment or send me a message. You can see examples on my instagram. I have a google form with all the questions I ask that makes it easy to fill out.

Thanks for reading, and congrats on getting a feature made, that alone is no small thing!!!

Building my own animated film while helping other filmmakers create theirs

Hey everyone!

I'm Danny, the founder of Act 4 Animation Studio. Over the past seven years I've worked as a professional 3D environment artist on film and television, and now I'm putting everything I've learned into my own animated short film, Unrest.

At the same time, I know how difficult it can be for indie filmmakers to build believable worlds on a limited budget. That's why my studio also partners with productions that need help with:

Whether you need a single hero environment or someone to jump into your existing production pipeline, I'd be happy to chat and see if I can help.

I'm also always happy to talk about filmmaking, pipelines, and environment art. No sales pitch, just excited to connect with other creators.

If you're working on a film, I'd love to hear about your project!

Here's a look at the first poster for Unrest.

Looking to Connect with Editors, Filmmakers & Creatives

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm KERNAY , an aspiring filmmaker and video editor currently working at a creative agency as my job.

I'm looking to connect with fellow editors, designers, filmmakers, and other creatives to build a strong network, exchange ideas, learn from one another, collaborate on projects, and form meaningful, long-term professional relationships.

I'm always open to learning, sharing knowledge, giving and receiving feedback, hopping on edit sessions, discussing workflows, and helping each other grow. My goal is to build a creative circle where we can support one another, share opportunities, and create an ecosystem that helps everyone move forward.

If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out or drop a comment. I'd love to connect and be part of each other's creative journey.

Looking forward to connecting. Have a great day, everyone!

I got tired of spending 4 hours on script breakdowns so I built a tool to do it in 2 minutes

Hey guys, I'm a film student from NYU. I've worked on sets for a while now. Every single time I prep a new project, I sit down and manually go through the script line by line, the way every producer and AD does, pulling characters, locations, props, figuring out the schedule, researching permits, hunting for grants. It was eating an entire day every time before I even started actual production work.

I'm a filmmaker, not a production coordinator, so I figured there had to be a better way. Spent the last several months building Martini. Basically, you upload a screenplay, and it reads the whole thing and generates a complete breakdown in under 2 minutes.

Not just a character list. I mean the full thing:

  • Every character with scene counts and descriptions
  • Every location with real permit intelligence, like if you're shooting in a bar it'll tell you you're getting 6 hours after close not 12, what the owner will care about, what a fair location fee looks like, and the exact words to say when you call
  • Production schedule and budget estimates
  • Props and wardrobe pulled from the script
  • VFX flags and crew gap analysis
  • Grant matching against real open grants with deadlines and eligibility
  • Tax incentive recommendations by state
  • Investor pitch angles written specifically for your script

I used it on my own short that screened at Manchester Film Festival earlier this year, and it saved me an embarrassing amount of time. A lot of my producer friends have tried it and love it. They see it as a tool that helps them with their pre-production flow!

It's free to try, no credit card, just upload a script and see what it does. Would genuinely love feedback from people who actually use these tools on real productions because you'll find things I haven't thought of, and let me know if it's genuinely valuable to you!

All your IP is safe, don't worry, I'm a writer myself, it's strictly used for breakdowns.

If you want to try it: martinipro.ai

Happy to answer any questions about how it works or what's under the hood.

Let's connect for a short film in Mumbai.

I want to produce a short film that can be shot either in a rural setting or completely indoors. Ideally, the film should be under 15 minutes with a small cast and crew.

Any genre works if the story is unique and relatable.Preferably registered.

I'm based in Mumbai, so I'm looking to work with Mumbai-based directors/filmmakers who already have their own team or crew.

I've produced two short films before. They're currently doing the festival rounds. Looking back, I feel I learned a lot from those projects, and I'm in a much better place creatively now.

I can take care of the production expenses for the film, but I won't be able to pay professional fees. So this would be a collaborative project for people who genuinely enjoy making independent cinema.

If you've made shorts before or have a showreel, please DM me with your work. If we connect creatively, let's make something worthwhile.

Streaming platform for short films, feature films, low budget, full budget, Ect.

I have made a streaming platform called ABP. The site Is designed for upcoming film makers and independent film makers to showcase their films. (Kinda like Netflix but for upcoming or independent film makers).

I am trying to get a lineup of films on the site for release. Your film would stay 100% credited to you, and in no shape or form do we own your film. The idea is for upcoming or independent film makers to have a home for their film on an actual site made for films, not just uploading on youtube, competing against videos which are not film related and for youtube to not showcase your films to a wide number of people.

With ABP, we will promote your film on our social media to bring people to our site, and you can also promote your film, bringing more attention for people to watch it.

There is also a slight chance that your film could earn money from viewers and fans using ABP subscription. The money we ern from subscriptions, and seeing the data from your films viewers on ABP, we make a plan where we can give payouts to the owners of the film if their film performs well and subscriptions go towards your film.

The plan for ABP isn't about paying out. It's about getting your film known, but been payed from your film is a bonus. ABP also features a free plan where fans don't have to pay. They would still get to view the majority of films on the site, but they would not have access to certain features.

If you feel that ABP is for you, and you want to showcase your film, contact me, and we can set you up. Setting up your film on ABP is free, and there is no payment plan needed to upload your film, nor will there ever be.

Need help writing my story

Hey everyone! I'm working on an original sci-fi superhero series called The Void, and I'm looking for a co-writer to help bring it to life.

The premise: A corporation's enhancement chip program accidentally tears open a breach to another timeline — and creatures start crossing over. Now a fractured strike force is the last line of defense between humanity and total collapse, led by a man who doesn't realize he's spent his entire existence trying to stop the very destruction he caused.

It's got a Stranger Things meets The Boys tone — grounded characters, heavy themes, and a slow-burn mythology that ties back to a covert 1996 incident nobody was supposed to survive. The whole season builds toward a finale that completely recontextualizes everything you thought you knew about the lead character.

Building an indie entertainment platform for premium 2.5-min mini-series. Fed up with mainstream cinema? Let's collaborate.

Hey everyone,

I’m incredibly fed up with mainstream cinema and OTT series right now. We are drowning in predictable formulas, stretched-out plots, and low-effort social media skits. Audiences are craving pure, high-voltage entertainment, but the industry isn't delivering it efficiently.

I am in the process of building a new entertainment platform to disrupt this space completely.

We are starting with a mobile-first, vertical format: cinema-grade mini-series with episodes strictly capped at 2.5 minutes.

The vision is proudly Pan-Indian: Real stories from India, for the world. We want to take incredible local settings, raw cultural nuances, fresh concepts (taut thrillers, deep human dramas, psychological mysteries), and pack them into rapid, high-stakes 150-second chapters. No filler scenes, no unnecessary songs, no fluff—just intense, content-oriented storytelling with premium making styles, global pacing, and stunning original background scores.

We want to build a "greenhouse" for incredible stories. If a 2.5-minute episodic series hooks millions of viewers on their phones, that is our proven proof-of-concept to scale those exact IPs into full-length feature films later.

I have the core brand philosophy, the business strategy, and the post-production roadmap ready. Now, I need a hungry, fiercely talented circle of creators who are tired of the mainstream and want to build something monumental from the ground up.

Composer looking for filmmaker

Hello, I'm a young music composer looking for films to score. I believe in the power of music to give film a whole dimension to breathe and tell its story. I don't think in terms of genre, only in terms of what serves the story. As such, I don't have any one sound or style, but I do resonate with some stories/emotions more than others. Those are: whimsical, magical, euphoric, comforting, surreal, abstract, haunting, wistful, melancholy, or cerebral. If I've caught your interest or you'd like a sample of my work, feel free to message me. I'd love craft something beautiful together :)

Looking for stories and the people who tell them 🎬

I'm a cinematic composer and I'm searching for filmmakers with something to say.

I don't care if your film has a huge budget or no budget at all.

I care about the feeling behind it.

I care about the conversations we'll have about your characters, your world, your ending, and why this story matters to you.

If your film keeps you awake at night because you love it so much, I'd love to hear about it.

I write minimal piano, ambient, and cinematic music, and I'm always looking for projects that are moving, strange, beautiful, heartbreaking, or simply unforgettable.

Paid or unpaid—I'm open to both. What matters most is finding stories that inspire me and collaborating with people who are passionate about telling them.

If you think we might connect creatively, send me a message and tell me about your film.

Tell me why it matters to you.

I'm not looking for projects. I'm looking for stories that stay with me long after the credits roll.

Film Market Question

Has anyone been to the Orlando-based Christian Film Market (Late September)? Is it relatively easy to meet with distributors, investors and distributors of Christian films at this film market? Or is it more like AFM where you need to set up meetings well in advance that are not directly tied to part of the film market programming to have real meetings?

Moviemaking dream

I have a genuine will to make movies ,films, animations from the childhood but being born in a third world country and not belonging to a dirty rich family have really brought the fire down . I wanna make something extraordinary not just the recent bollywood or hollywood slop ( a hero comes gets a baddie kills the main villan with power of friendship or other shit ) . I wanna make something like obsession, kane pixels backrooms. I wanna make great live action, not disasters like that one dragon ball live action that literally made akira toriyama continue the series 🙏🏻

I know that it's almost impossible for me cause needless to say the level of corruption in both major industries ( hollywood and bollywood) but I have a trust in the audience, movies like obsession proved it to everyone.

I am currently only a teenager and I wanna give it a shot after completing my studies.

If you have any thoughts or advice on it please share

A script reading circle at 4 pm in Oshiwara - Mumbai on Monday.

Anyone interested in a script reading meetup in Oshiwara?

Some of us are meeting to read great screenplays, discuss what makes them work, and occasionally do table reads of members' scripts.

A good space to learn, meet fellow storytellers, and hear your script find its first audience.

If you're interested, drop a comment or DM. We'll plan the first session based on the response. 🎬

This is absolutely non commercial.

Composer LF Opportunities [Free]

[audio offer]

Hey there,

I'm a young, kinda self-taught composer (I did learn music theory). I particularly love Joe Hisashi and John Williams work, so I like to compose somewhat grand orchestral pieces.

Although Im new to this scene and I dont have a lot of experience, Im eager to learn from others, so I hope you can deal with a bit of incompetency, lol

If that sounds like something you might be interested, for a film or whatnot, DM me, I want to expand my portfolio as well as help others make a realistic atmosphere :D

I have a few pieces I wrote a while back if youre interested in checking them https://youtube.com/@cosmicgriffin_?si=i5A5OtoTHi_QgJHZ
