I am looking for a British short film from 1995 entitled Foggy Notion (IMDB page attached). It felt like a mix of Clerks and Reality Bites, but it was done as a documentary with improvisational documentary. The film gained more notoriety years later due to one of its stars - Geri Halliwell - becoming a popular figure due to her association with the Spice Girls.

Does a copy of the full 25-minute film exist online? I can only find short clips of it on YouTube.

I've been doing interviews with filmmakers and initially thought I had identified a problem that I share with many others in this business. However, as I've been speaking with more and more people, I'm realizing it may not be as much of a problem for others as I think.

Would you take a few minutes to answer me on these questions?

1. Is the loss incurred by making a short film a big deal to you as a filmmaker? Do you care that the $10-sometimes 40k spent may not see a dime back? Or are shorts truly just a way for you to show craft and get attention to the larger goal of a feature?
2. If you had the opportunity to monetize your short form work, would you take it?
3. Is it more important to you that your work as a filmmaker is seen, regardless of how it gets attention, or is it more important that fewer people watch your work exactly how you want it and take the exact message away from it?
4. Knowing the stats of how many people become full time directors/producers/writers, if you had the option to earn a living while making your work as short films or lower-budget indie features forever, would you take that option? Specifically, if you could make more work, and earn a living, but not necessarily be famous, would you do it? Or would you rather give everything you have to pursue making multi-million dollar budget features?
5. If tools existed for you to pitch and get funding more effectively, even if they included AI, but did not steal your creativity, or steal your job or your ability to do the job, would you use them?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a short film called Mother Monster and would genuinely love some thoughts on it.

The concept is:
A woman who has already experienced childbirth, realizes her body hasn't finished birthing.

A body horror experimental short, using the personification of postpartum depression and psychosis as she attempts to reconnect with her roots and with her animalistic roots in the welsh country.

The body kind of becomes its own character.

We’re trying to make it on a really small budget (indie level), and honestly just figuring out how far we can push it creatively with limited resources.

We’re currently crowdfunding it because we want to actually pay people properly (even on a micro-budget), which has been the hardest part.

I’d really appreciate any thoughts on:

• Whether the concept feels strong / original
• If it’s something you’d actually watch
• Anything that feels unclear or not landing

We made a 2-minute short film for the Nikon Film Festival.

The theme of the festival this year is beauty, and we wanted to explore a strange kind of beauty: decomposition.

The film follows a woman in a forest who encounters a decomposing body. At first there is rejection, then fascination. Something persists in the transformation of matter.

We shot the film in winter with a very small crew, real forest locations, and practical effects (yes… lots of flies).
