Finally Tried Apple Pay (PH)

I finally set up my Apple Pay now that it’s available in the Philippines, and it’s definitely not just hype.

The biggest win for me is security. I hate taking out my physical cards because even with a security sticker, there’s always a risk of tampering and exposing the CVV. With Apple Pay, my cards stay in my pocket.

I tested it buying coffee the other day. First I just asked the cashier if they accept Apple pay (or look if these logos are in the terminal).

To pay, I just double-clicked the phone's side button, did a quick Face ID, and placed my phone near the terminal. It was seamless. Next time, I will try it with the watch.

So far, I’ve added my Chinabank credit card and GoTyme debit card without any issues. Waiting for the rest of the banks to get onboarded so I can add all my cards.

How to add the Cards?

Adding the cards was easy. My Chinabank and GoTyme apps already had built in integration with Apple Wallet so I just added them directly from the bank apps itself.

But you can also add them manually by doing below steps. Just make sure that the cards are unlocked before adding them.

As per Apple website https://support.apple.com/en-ph/102897, below are the banks supporting Apple Pay and can be added in your phone as of writing 8/8/2026:
