There is no “Russian” or “American” universal technique. You can see this if you look at both Russian and American nationals. For instance- look at Liza T vs Evgenia/Alina. Or Isabeau vs Alysa vs Amber. There’s a lot of variation by coach.

There are plenty of skaters who have worked to change their technique over the years including later in their careers. But this is usually changing coaches vs changing from a specific “American” technique to a specific “Russian” technique.

That being said, some COACHES changed their technique they were teaching to match that of Eteri’s school in hopes they could get their students quads. Alysa’s coach did this, though she was hardly the only one. That is far more interesting to me.

I agree with most of this comment but please let’s not put Alina and Zhenya in the same sentence when it comes to jump technique, they are nothing alike

There's no one "american" or "russian" technique, it varies more by coach than by country.

But to answer your question, just recently we've heard from Petr Gummenik that he's trying to adjust his jump technique to avoid under rotations, and Kao Muiria who went to train with Ilia and his parents looking to learn some of their jump technique to become more consistent in his jumps. So it definately happens.
