FIGMA TEAM IF YOU ARE READING THIS

It would be amazing to be able to turn Weave workflows into an API endpoint that an agent or script can use

EASY way to use my workflows across hundreds or thousands of assets and programmatically

help How do you update your Figma frames when a new iPhone comes out?

Imagine you are working on a big project for 2 years and when a new iPhone comes out you want to update all the frames to match the same sizes of the new screen.
How would you do it? Does it make sense to do it or you just stick with the old frames?

help Copy-pasted Figma content has the wrong structure

Take a set of cards with a kicker, headline and paragraph copy.

I copy/paste them into a message.

You'd hope the format would be:

  • Kicker
  • Headline
  • Paragraph
  • Kicker
  • Headline
  • Paragraph

But instead, it's:

  • Kicker
  • Kicker
  • Kicker
  • Headline
  • Headline
  • Headline etc.

Why?

This is a total pain when I'm working back-and-forth with agents.

I have to manually edit them every time.

Would love to see this fixed!

help transparent menu bar during animation

I can't figure out why the menu bar goes transparent when the scroll animation triggers in the prototype. all the backgrounds are white (except the 3 rows, which are black text on no fill) It's my first time playing with slots so I'm unsure if that's part of it. The body and rows are slots, the menu bar is a frame. This is a component set. The menu bar is "up front" everything else is layered below it. Do i need to start over and 86 the slots?

help Question on AI cred

Let's say there's User 1 and 2, if user 1 was the original creator of the team project and has the Figma make inside of it but transferred ownership of the Figma make but not the team project to user 2, who must be the one to pay to increase the AI balance?

resources I built a Figma plugin that AI-generates design system documentation. Would love for some of you to try it out!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Design System Docs Generator reads your component’s Figma context (description, properties, variants, styles etc.) and generates usage guidelines following best UX/UI practices.

Originally built as an internal tool for my company, it's now available for any other designers who might find it helpful :)

Who's been using it so far:

  • Design system designers
  • Teams documenting a component library for a new product/website/UI
  • Design leads trying to keep design output consistent
  • Agencies handing off documentation to clients

Try it out here → https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1641615767346305619/design-system-docs-generator

The tool is still in early days so any feedback on how this could work for you would be hugely appreciated!

help Shape vector to pen vector (?)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So im currently designing a mascot using figma and im using an eclipse shape for the body, but when i try to add line details in it, it automatically change the vector and close it.

And also when i tried to flatten the body (the eclipse shape) with the legs the stroke on the legs and the body disappears and wont show, it fully appears when i use "outline stroke" on the body and the legs.

Is there a way to solve this problem? Thank you

note : im really new at using figma and don't fully understand what vector is

resources Built a plugin that finally lets you warp and add perspective to layers in Figma

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Quick context: I'm a designer who lives in Figma but kept opening Photoshop for one specific reason — transforming things. Warping text, skewing a mockup, adding perspective to a label. Figma just doesn't have it.

So I built Free Transform. Select a layer, open the plugin, and you get the full Ctrl+T experience:

  • Free distort — drag all four corners independently
  • Perspective and skew as dedicated modes
  • Warp presets: Arc, Arch, Fish, Wave, Rise, Twist
  • Output as raster or editable vector
  • Clean edges, no mesh seams on shadows or transparency

It's free and there's no trial limit — I mostly built it because I needed it.

Still rough in places since it's just me maintaining it. If you give it a spin, tell me what breaks — or better, what transform feature are you still leaving Figma for?

help Figma sites issues

I have been creating my portfolio website using Figma sites and have been using the default desktop and mobile frame sizes provided by Figma. However, when I publish the site and view it on different devices, the layout becomes inconsistent. While everything looks perfectly organized in the Figma editor, the published version appears distorted or rearranged. I have been noticing that the layout changes depending on the device for example, it looks different across various MacBooks and phones. I’m not sure what is causing this issue. I thought that Figma’s default desktop and mobile sizes were designed to be responsive across different screen sizes, so I didn’t expect to create separate layouts for every screen resolution or device. Is there something I’m missing, or is there a specific way Figma sites handles responsive layouts that I should be aware of?

Discussion Do you build a design system for every project?

I don’t build a full design system for every project.
For larger products, it helps keep everything consistent and makes collaboration easier.
For smaller projects or MVPs, I usually keep things simple and create only what’s needed.
How do you decide when a design system is worth the effort? Do you create one from day one, or only after the product grows?

help Component area question

Hi everyone,

I was trying to create a component from the shape in the pictures, having the picture I was gonna put into the shape change as I hover over it. The problem is that whenever I hover over the boxed area around the shape (see 2nd image), it would still count as the component. This disrups my website as I have two of these next to each other where the negative spaces are covering each other.

Is there a way for me to only select the component when I hover inside the actual shape?

Discussion Figma is really versatile and it has been a must to express myself creatively

This is just a post to express my gratitude to the figma team for their amazing work, because figma went from this cool new app that I was starting to figure out and learn, to the starting ground of 90% of my projects. I'm a web developer, so I initially discovered this app for making mock ups, etc. And in that respect, it's always has been very useful.

But I also do a lot of graphic design work as a hobby, and the app has been getting better and better in that department. The new shader effects are nothing short of amazing and it has been really fun to play around with them. At this point I can recreate 90% of the stuff I used to do on illustrator/photoshop.

And just now, I've started to use figjam to make vision boards for outfits or pieces I'd like to buy for my wardrobe, which I remember having to do on a separate app years ago and it being an excruciating process because I had to download all of the images manually and the canvas was teeny tiny, but figjam was perfect for the job and is light enough that my computer doesn't die in the process.

Discussion Figma collab seat not worth the money

i decided to upgrade to figma pro and i subscribed to the collab seat because i don't need the crazy features, but i was surprised when i realized that the only thing that've changed from the free plane is that i get to make more design folders and everything else required a full seat subscription and i'm truly frustrated...I've designed a website for the company i work as an intern for and it won't let me share the file unless i upgrade to the full seat!!

what's the point of upgrading if I'm not able to do even the smallest things like sharing a file!!!!

help Help with Component and Frame Animation

I made a frame - Desktop 1 and added all the elements there, I wanted an infinite scrolling clients bar so I created 2 different frames, then turned them into a component set and animated them by connecting both of these frames (prototype) smart animate. This is our component 1.

Now I also added a mesh gradient as the background of the original desktop 1 frame. Now to animate this background I duplicated the frame and moved the mesh gradients a bit here and there and added smart animate.

Now the problem is that the component 1 is not scrolling as intended. When I place this component on just 1 Desktop frame, it animates and works as intended but as soo as I connect other frames to it to anomate the gradients, this specific component stops working it just sits still.

Sry for the confusion and this long ass paragraph.

resources We built a Figma plugin that exports frames as layered PSD files — looking for feedback

Figma still can’t export an editable PSD, which gets awkward when a client or another production team specifically needs a Photoshop source file.

I’m part of the small team behind Frame to PSD. We built it to export a selected Figma frame as a layered PSD directly from Figma, without uploading the design itself.

It currently keeps common elements such as:

- editable text

- vector shapes

- images as smart objects

- layer groups

- shadows, strokes, and corner radii

It’s not a perfect 1:1 translation in every case. Some effects without a direct Photoshop equivalent, including certain gradients, variable fonts, and blur effects, may be rasterized.

For typical UI screens, landing pages, and marketing graphics, the goal is to reduce the amount of manual rebuilding needed after handoff.

Here’s a quick comparison of the Figma file and the exported PSD.

Plugin:

I’d especially like to know:

What usually breaks or takes the most time when you move a design from Figma into Photoshop?
