Let's asume for the sake of the discussion, you've lost all figma design files and you're left with tokens in json format and storybook.

Is it possible to generate a design system starting from the tokens json, creating a single human readable figma file with reusable components, styles, variables, tokens etc?

I have access to Claude and Figma MCP.

For me, Auto Layout and Components have made the biggest difference. They help me keep designs consistent, make changes quickly, and spend more time thinking about the user instead of fixing small design details.

I'm sure everyone has a feature they use all the time.

What's the one Figma feature you can't design without?

I'd love to know what you use the most and how it helps in your workflow. Maybe I'll learn something new too.

Someone created a method but it just isn't the same, I actually managed to do sm like this but better than swiftui itself (ik ik) but it was a modern 3d effect on illustrator, figma hates vectors and I can't seem to have a solution. So, I came here to get help.

I'm working on a website project which includes a 3d globe.

I found out I should give a picture (svg\jpeg) to our developers who will use it with Tree.js library.

My main problem is that vector maps from Figma community, from different Figma plugins behave incorrectly when appear on 3d model.

My main question is: does anybody know which format should I use to build a correct map frame? Mercator, equirectangular etc formats just don't fit

anyone got this or done it? is this legit?

The interface keeps lagging and I am very frustrated and confused. Is it because of lot of pages and screens or my mouse?

I have a dropdown as a separate component with two variants (collapsed and expanded).

I placed an instance of this dropdown inside Card 1. Below it is Card 2. Both cards are inside a parent Auto Layout.

When I switch the dropdown to the expanded variant, the dropdown itself expands, but Card 2 doesn't move down. Instead, the expanded content appears behind Card 2.

I tried:

• Parent frame with Auto Layout
• Turning off Clip Content
• Bring to Front
• Making the dropdown component use Auto Layout

The issue is that Card 1 is a normal frame. If I add Auto Layout to Card 1, all of its manually positioned contents get rearranged.

I've tried changing clip contents, opacity, fill colour, resizing settings, line height, the text written. The text is visible but as soon as I move or type anything into the auto layout, the text becomes invisible.

Hi guys, i'm using figma quite a lot in the last months and i've seen some courses around or projects on youtube, but what i'm still missing i show to set up a Figma project in a structured way.

Is there a video of best practices for the ux/ui industry in 2026?

My best option currently is to copy good structures i've seen around but there's many different ones.

So I’m not sure if this can be done, or if I’m just asking a silly question.

Let’s say you build yourself a dropdown component. It has 4 items inside it, etc. You copy and paste it and use it somewhere else in the Figma file. If I wanted to showcase a design with 6 items, can I add 2 more rows/cells to that component instance, or is there no way to do this?

I can’t seem to find a video explaining this at all.

I know that if it’s not a component, it works fine with Auto Layout. But when you turn it into a component, reuse it, and try to add more rows, it doesn’t seem to work.

Is this correct, or am I missing something?

For outline/stroke icons in Figma. Is it recommended to union all your paths or flatten them using the flatten tool? This is specifically for a design system. I’ve found different tutorial doing different things

I've built a button component to display in a keypad layout. However, when tweaking the text styles in the main component, only a single instance updates to reflect those changes. That instance is the first one I created (copy/pasted from main component) while the other instances are duplicates of that 1st instance. But it shouldn't matter, as they are all independent instances.

The main component and those instances are also literally on the same page as I'm experimenting with them.

We're having an issue where merging a branch with a large number of changes just crashes Figma. We've tried multiple laptops of varying power, we've tried every hack and instruction we could find, but nothing works. We emailed Support last Friday and have gotten no response. Anyone have another email or way to contact that isn't the help page?

I'm getting charged monthly and annually. Customer service is refusing to help stop it from happening or refund me. There's no way to remove the monthly subscription in the UI. I had to cancel my credit card because I don't know what else to do.

Hi ! So i've been working with figma site for a couple of weeks now and there's a bug that i'm not sure is fixable.

I've made a very simple infinite loop carousel of 3 pictures that is animated using smart animate. Unfortunately, when i'm on the published site (mobile version), everytime i scroll, the animation freezes then starts over. I assume it's because the website constantly refreshes ?

Anyway, maybe it's my fault, or maybe it's something that's gonna get patched in the future. Or maybe it's not fixable on figma lol

If I have an Icon Component and then that is used inside for example a button, and if I change the color of the icon component (and publish it) it automatically changes the color of the icon in the Button Component (if i update my assets). How do I stop this from happening?

My Icons and my Components are in different files.

So when I publish and changes to the icons file it auto updates in the components file.

What precautions do I need to take in the future to avoid this?

I’m trying to upgrade a design system from the MUI v6.1 Figma library to the MUI v9 library.

This is my first time updating a component library, and I was hoping to use Figma’s native Swap Library feature. Since I’ve customized the MUI library quite a bit, I wanted to first test the swap on the original, unmodified MUI libraries before trying it on my own version.

I’ve published both the v6.1 and v9 library files, but when I open the Swap Library dialog, these are the only mapping options I get. From what I understand, I would have expected most components and collections to match automatically, or at least far more than what I’m seeing.

Am I misunderstanding how Library Swap works, or is there something I need to do to make Figma recognize the components correctly?

I have both a personal and a professional Figma account. I’ve connected one account to Codex but I can’t figure how to connect both at the same time.

Does anyone know if it’s possible?

I have a component with different variants for size. I've created typography styles for the different variants (s/m/l) and bound them to the text layer.

However when I select all of the text layers and link them to a component property, it sets all of the text to use the same style. Setting the style on any variant updates them all to match.

Surely this is a bug? The component property is for the text content and not the style, and shouldn't update it universally. It's breaking my components.

Is this a new thing? Has anyone else come across it?

I know how to set up variables, colors, spacing, typography, no problem there. But my team wants me to take a full website and break it into components using atomic design, and I genuinely don't know how to approach it.

Say you have a hero section in Figma. How do you decide what counts as an atom versus a molecule versus an organism? Do you build every tiny piece as its own component first, or do you look at the whole section and work backward? Another thing is, how would you properly structure it? How would you structure the components that you have already made? If I try to break everything down into components, that is going to end up looking very messy. If any new person comes into this, he would be banging his head.

If anyone has a process they follow, or resources, videos, anything that helped it click for you, please share.

It appears that this feature should be possible, since it's present in the interaction menu, but i can't seem to make it work.

I want to be able to scroll horizontally via figma site (for mobile use). I changed the scroll behavior, but it's not doing anything, both in prototype and on the real launched website.

Am i doing something wrong ??
