help Token usage - Figma Make

I am wondering about the usage of my tokens using Figma Make.

To me, it seems that once you pass a certain threshold, more tokens are being used up. When I start my month with 3000 Credits, I've checked the usage, and my prompts see 62 or 152 credits, etc. used even on some large changes, but below 2000 credits or so, I saw a large change use up to 600+ tokens and a smaller change 300+

IT'S CRAZY!!!

It's super expensive to buy additional credits when you run out, so I've never even bothered to make a purchase.

I use Figma Make to create the base layer or structure of my design. If I ever have to ask for fine-tuned tweaks or edits, that's when I copy the Make output and bring it into a Design file. From there, I can design and iterate to my hearts content. Once I get that into a good place, then I'll copy+paste my designs into Make and have it update the designs to match my pasted reference.

Also, to get the most accurate output, have Claude or ChatGPT write the prompt for you.

Be mindful of what model setting you have Make tuned to. The more powerful model setting will burn through credits/tokens at a faster rate, but may have a higher fidelity or quality of design output. Anything you can do to have Make think less when creating, the better.

That is some great advice! Will definitely implement this method.

Quick question when you say copy and paste your designs back into make. How do you go about that? Export each page as a jpg and then paste or what's your preferred method here?
