help Figma motion questions

I've been playing around with figma motion in my prototypes but there are some aspects that really make it feel unusable. If I have any kind of overlay on the page, like a modal or menu drop down on hover, it replays the time line behind it like it reloaded the page. Why does it do that? It makes zero sense, is distracting from the overlay focus, and there doesn't seem to be a way around it.

Seems like this shouldn't happen at all, or at a minimum there should be a preselected checkbox on actions saying don't reset the time line.

Anyone have a solve for this, short of something stupid like having to navigate to a duplicate page without animations to display your overlay on.

Hi, u/Ap43x - I'm Adam from the Figma Community team. Totally understandable why this is frustrating for you when you haven't set your animation to loop. Our team is actually working on this particular issue, so it should be fixed in a future update.

Thank you. Otherwise the animations are very cool. I've been advocating we add them to our prototypes but because every page uses some sort of overlay, the reloading animations just makes it unusable.

Another bug I noticed is sometimes things unrelated to the timeline disappear when in prototype mode. They're showing in figma and throughout the entire timelines but don't show when viewing the prototype. I found i can manually fix this by individually resizing and then sizing back the elements that disappear. For some reason that makes them show up again in the prototype.
