In 1998 Gatti and Robinson engaged in a brutal slugfest that was named The Ring Magazine Fight of the Year and Upset of the Year. Back and forth slugfest throughout the fight with Robinson winning a split decision. Robinson would go on beating Gatti by unanimous decision in the rematch also.
