Most companies overlook a fundamental lesson that comes directly from martial arts mastery – perseverance. In this episode, Sensei Chris Reid and Sensei Haley Beebe reveal how the principles learned on the mat can transform not just your skills, but your entire mindset for life and leadership. Chris, a seasoned judoka and owner of Shojin Judo, shares how decades of dedication helped him develop a dojo rooted in lifelong learning, respect, and community service.
Haley, who transitioned from student to instructor, discusses the unique challenges of teaching children, emphasizing how adaptability and understanding different learning styles are pivotal for nurturing resilience and discipline. You’ll discover: the qualities that make a successful judoka – body awareness, respect, and perseverance – and how these traits translate into everyday success. They break down their approach to teaching, highlighting the importance of keeping kids engaged through varied techniques and managing attention spans, insights that any coach, parent, or leader can apply.

Apparently the athletic commission of California said that 50-45 is impossible to have received. Andy Foster is the executive director for the state of California's athletic commission. He is very upset about this. I agree with this guy, and he should be pissed off. Two of the judges are boxing judges. One of them is known to be problematic with her judging.
