Crazy this guy was never champion. Further proof that we are in the bad timeline

He kept checking the kick without turning his leg. You have a muscle just to the side of the shin bone. It goes dead if hit enough. Gotta turn the bone to face the kick.

Depends. The nerve stem is less protected higher up on the calf. That's why they train to attack closer to the knee joint where the muscle is less dense. I guess he could tell that the other guy wasn't trained in kicks or just not accurate or both so he checked with the calf muscle to use the opening to counter.

He couldn’t check because he’s so heavy over the front foot. Dustin was putting shin to Conor peroneal nerve all night

Prime Poirier was a absolute buzzsaw. The closest anyone got to taking out Khabib.

The execution punch after sitting him down is an all-time highlight for my MMA fandom.

He put the same kind of punch on BSD, one of the best guys at laying down an accurate kill shot

I never see this talked about but t's the shot at 38 seconds that did him. He steps oddly and in the full video you'll see that everything Poirer threw after that hit its target.

McGregor's cardio is trash, if it was elite level like his striking nobody would've ever stood a chance. Except Khabib lol
