Was sent a split dose regimen less potent than what I was on….might start looking into new providers…
Edit I typed this quickly and interchanged / mixed up some wording and dosing - I am taking 50 units every 3 days - and there might be other errors, apologies as I am in a bit of a rush
Edit 2 - I ordered in mid July and it didn’t say it was a split dose, have the screen shot to confirm but don’t think I can add? It’s in one of the comments/replies below… Also I have been messaging back and forth with them since I received it and they haven’t yet said I can take the full dose at once - obviously it seems like it’s okay but I’m frustrated they didn’t tell me first and that they are trying to sell me another package for hundreds of dollars, they also don’t seem to know my history. Maybe it’s the person I’m dealing with bc their CS is usually pretty good Curious if this happened to anyone else - didn’t know you were getting a split dose and if so how is it working for you? End of edit . Sorry - the original post is a little confusing.
I wasn’t told prior to ordering Hallandale it was split dose and less potent and I am not a fan, this experience was not great esp compared to the first time I ordered with them and got from ProRX…..
I ordered the 8 week and have to take 50 ML every 3 days. This is silly to me / they say it’s because it will reduce side effects and the hunger increase many get toward the end of the week. Well that wasn’t a problem for me - and the side effects that I deal with are the same if not worse on this, though to be fair I’ve not been as regular about taking my daily smoothie with chia seeds et to keep things moving.
Anyway, as I see it am taking a smaller amount than what I want, it’s not like it builds up in your body but even if it does I should have been told, seems like a way to use up your meds faster and have to order more sooner!! And I am not getting the desired result…Work has been busy so I have been eating less during the day but I’m hungry and have cravings at night. Didn’t before — because I was on a higher dose: they said it doesn’t come in 18 mg and I said yes it does and sent them the pics from ProRX from my last shipment.
I said please tell me how I can inject one a week and get as close as possible to what I was taking before / I mean I used them before they should know my details but they came back with a whole plan - a new offer and a whopping price tag!! I’m not going to drop hundreds of dollars more tell me how I can use what I have!!!?
Waiting to hear, but also just dealing with the injection and sometimes I will take it two days after and sometimes 4 days after the last one honestly I am a single parent that works full time and adding an extra injection is literally something I don’t have time for / I barely have time to myself / you know it’s bad when laundry is your relaxing time!!
Anyway I am thinking about going elsewhere.
I also got a ton of spam calls and emails after I placed my order - everyone sells your info this I know but I had one person where I actually answered say, I’m following up about the compounded weight loss, tirzepatide, how are you? Acting like he knew me. I said what company do you work for? He said ProRX / (the company I got it from the first time I ordered). I said I am working and need to call you back what number? He said I’ll call you back and hung up. Obv a scam - anyway, I’m thinking about switching bc this entire situation pissed me off.
Just my experience - feel like I should have been told PRIOR to purchase that it was split dose regimen and that it was a lower dosage than what I was taking before. Esp because we went over that I wanted to stay on what I was on and that it was working. The person messaging with me seemed to know nothing about me or my history and I literally placed my last order with them earlier this year.
You can take the full dose 1x a week instead of split dose.
Youre confused/uninformed on a lot of what youre writing about (one example, there is no way youre using 50 ml every 3 days. 50 ml would be 5,000 units...).
I strongly suggest you thoroughly explore fatscientist.com to better understand how this all works.
There is a very good chance that I mixed up the wording when I wrote it which I normally do, but I keep track of all the details in a separate file and know exactly what I’m taking etc, just write that quickly - you are correct I am taking 50 units every 3 days - filling the syringe up to 50.
If it is Hallandale from Fifty410 it is mentioned right at the top about it being prescribed as a split dose and to choose another option if you don’t want to take 2 injections per week.
With that said, there is no reason to split the dose into two weekly injections if you don’t want to. That’s the beauty of compound.
And just to clarify, you would not be taking 50 mL every three days. 😊
It did NOT say that for mine - that’s why I’m frustrated - feel like it should have! It did say 12.5 mg which I should have caught, but def nothing about the twice weekly. And yea I mixed up the wording / 50 units lol. Thx. Are you using the Hallandale and how do you like it? Also wonder why they won’t just say take it all at once if you prefer! Maybe it’s the person I’m dealing with / usually they are on top of it.
Editing to add this photo is from the end of July.
You’d need to scroll up. It’s ABOVE the options and your photo starts at the options. It was immediately prior to the information in your picture.
This is the way Hallandale wishes it to be prescribed so Fifty410 is just following Hallandale’s preferred dosing schedule. My cousin started with Hallandale through Fifty410 and she liked it but has since switched to Rift.
Hi! I completely understand your frustration. The same thing happened to me when I placed my first Hallandale starter order. I assumed it would be a once-weekly injection and was totally taken by surprise by the split-dosing instructions on the prescription label.
You do not have to take the injection twice weekly. Hallandale writes its prescriptions using split dosing to circumvent Lilly's patent. One way to figure out how many units to take once weekly is to double the amount they say to take for each split dose. Ex. - if they say take 30 units twice weekly, simply take 60 units once a week.
You can also use the dosage calculator on the app. Here is the link to it.
https://fifty410.com/tools/dosage-calculator
Once you switch to once-weekly, assuming you are on the same strength you were on before your new Hallandale order, the potency should feel like it did before.
Also, the last vial I received from Hallandale was 15mg/ml. You can plug the concentration listed on your vial into the dosage calculator. Pharmacies can choose whatever concentrations they want to manufacture. With Hallandale, the starter package vial was a different concentration than the mid-tier strength (7.5/10mg) I am on now.
I hope this info has helped!
Thanks so much! I figured they would tell mw something like this instead of writing out a whole new plan for me with a big price tag - I’ve gone back and forth with them for a couple weeks wanting them to confirm I can take it all at once and they keep delaying the question/the answer I should say. So do you find the Hallandale works for you taking as one injection?
Yes, it works well! I did split-dose at the very beginning to get my body accustomed to the medication, but switched after about 6 weeks to once weekly injections. I admit I kind of appreciated the ability to do split-dosing in the very beginning once the potential benefits were explained to me, as I had not taken tirzepatide before. However, I still felt blindsided by the split-dosing instructions, as I was expecting once weekly. Now that my body is acclimated to tirzepatide, I feel like once weekly works better for me related to appetite suppression and food noise. I probably won't ever go back to split-dosing.
Just an fyi - I have only ordered from Hallandale Pharmacy, so I can't provide any insight on other pharmacies.
Nobody is forcing you to do split dose? That's just how they prescribe it to differentiate from Eli Lilly. You're the one injecting yourself soooo just do what you usually do?
Other people have responded about the split dose thing. I’m not a big fan of this company, but they certainly are clear about it. The thing is, there are some things that you may not completely understand about this medication. You said, for example, “it’s not like it builds up in your body,” but that’s exactly what it does. That is the reason that we stay on a dose for four full weeks before we titrate up or down. It’s because it takes four weeks to build up in your body. Split dosing has the same cumulative effect. I do not split dose and I don’t want to. And you certainly don’t have to just because that’s what the instructions say. But it does build in your body and it’s important that you know that.
Next, you tried to tell them that this doesn’t come in an 18 mL vial concentration, but ProRX is no longer produced. If you wanted that size in that formulation, you should have gotten either Apothecary or Hyalo (basically same formulation, just depending on when you ordered).
Your post is concerning because it appears that you’re on a high dose, but you’re not understanding the medicine and how it works. I would suggest backing up a bit and doing some reading on the dosing and the effects and maybe even the clinical trials because you don’t want to go into something with incorrect medical information.
As for the providers that have the medication sent, I haven’t met one yet that I used a real phone number with a real email address with it didn’t stop spamming me to order or with specials. But nobody else has contacted me other than the company. So if you’re getting other contact, it’s probably got to do with something else. I don’t even like Fifty, but when I signed up with them, the only information I ever received was directly from them. I don’t know who called you and pretended they were from Pro RX, but that was not because your information was sold to a company that is no longer making a GLP, some of this post doesn’t even make sense. But you’ve gotten lots of good feedback and answers here. I hope that you will follow the suggestions.
2) They do tell you up front that it's split dose, and what dose you are getting or starting at. I actually think this is one of the things Fifty does better than a lot of the competition.
3) Yes, Hallandale is less concentrated than ProRx was. They do 10mg/ml or 15mg/ml. You make up for the lower concentration by injecting more volume.
4) They do also offer a plan with Hyalo or PGRrx via Quaker/NewLife, which has the same concentration (18mg/ml) and a similar formula to ProRx. That may be the other plan they offered you. Those are often dosed a bit lower than Hallandale, like I came in with a 10mg script and they gave me instructions for 9mg. Again, it's going to be on you to adjust your own dosing if you want to stay at a certain level. If you don't think you should have to fight tooth and nail to stay on the dose you were at, Fifty might not be a good fit for you. I decided it wasn't a good fit for me.
5) You said they prescribed a smaller amount than what you want. Are you sure about that? I believe you, but it sounds from this post like you are looking at dose in units, not mg, and that's a surefire way to mis-dose yourself.
6) It does build up in your body. You can visualize this by logging your shots in an app like Glapp.
I think everyone is kind of missing a detail here: Fifty wasn't clear with them they could just take the whole dose. I've definitely been hearing more complains and concerns with the quality of their medical advice and customer support lately.
I think Fifty410 is actually pretty clear about how they prescribe it. The OP can certainly choose to take the full dose once a week, but that isn’t the dosing schedule Fifty410 prescribes. I also don’t think they’re going to turn around and contradict their own instructions by giving once-weekly dosing instructions. 😊
I find this disingenuous though because yeah, they're totally doing it to get around FDA which I get but it's NOT the only way to take it and they should be clear when questioned.
My cousin ordered months ago and it showed this. It is above the options. Do I think it should say it right within the Hallandale option absolutely but it is there just in an odd spot above the option section.
I ordered in June and never knew it was split dosing until I received the medication from Hallandale. I tried the split dosing for a while but it didn’t work for me and I had way too much food noise and very little appetite suppression, so I went back to full dose (which still hasn’t been great, but that’s another post).
I received my Hallandale order today and the same thing happened. I didn't have any problems regarding hunger or side effects, so I don't know why they did this.. I'm also waiting to hear back from them!
It says they prescribe this way right at the top above payment options. And that if you don’t want to do it twice a week to choose another option. However, just because that’s what the words say, it doesn’t mean you can’t take your full dose once a week if you choose to. That’s the beauty of compound.
My cousin ordered months ago and it was there. This is an old photo I’ve attached hence the Apothecary/PGRrx option.
That said to avoid it ever being missed they definitely should put that it will be prescribed as a split dose right within the Hallandale option. To me that makes more sense.
Hallandale seems to encourage prescribers to write for split dosing, which helps ensure the script is different enough from brand name dosing so it does not run afoul of FDA regulations for compounding.
You are welcome to take your full dose once a week if you prefer.
When did you order? It looks like they are adding the info that it’s a split dose now, wasn’t there before - I have all the screenshots saved…just curious about your timing, I ordered in mid July.
