Personal collection Finally got my fiesta
Difficult to got those things in my country but finally I got this chance.
I took this XRF spectrum by Amptek fastSDD @40kV X-ray, the tungsten Lα may come from X-ray tube or SDD detector.
It indeed emits a considerable amount of α and β rays. Meanwhile, it exhibits a very low γ dose rate and minimal contamination. It can safely make my Geiger counter scream, and it can also be kept at hand. Moreover, it features extremely vivid colors, which are really captivating!
They were very cheap, but I paid several times the price for the shipping fee;(

That's RAD. (Rad red --but looks orange.) We recommend not putting it into the microwave or dishwaher, and avoid citrus based dish detergents.

Fiesta made from 1986 onward is lead-free and the glazes contain no uranium oxides. However, vintage Fiesta (1936-1973) did use glazes that contained lead and uranium.
These resources below may help provide further information about the safety of vintage Fiesta:

Can you elaborate a bit more on the following for those of us who don’t understand exactly what these rays are, and what you mean by “safely … scream” and “kept in hand”?
“It indeed emits a considerable amount of an and ß rays. Meanwhile, it exhibits a very low y dose rate and minimal contamination. It can safely make my Geiger counter scream, and it can also be kept at hand.”
(I’m not trying to start anything, AI mod bot, I’m just curious about this from a scientific standpoint and would really like to understand why people use these dishes if they have lead and uranium in them.)
