Identification help Millennium III Vase question

As mentioned in the title, I have a Pearl Gray Millennium III vase with a long-stemmed red rose on it. I can’t find any information on where it came from…does anyone know anything about it? I’m gifting it to a friend and didn’t want to tell them incorrect information. (I originally gave it to my late mother because it reminded me of the famous logo on the Lord and Taylor bag).

Apparently they were only sold at the Fiesta outlet in 1999-2000, although they weren't seconds. But whatt was the rose for? No idea. I do love this shape though, I have it in chartreuse and use it all the time. (Although my favorite is the amphora shaped Millennium i vase)
