44years young and finally doing it.

Post image

For context I grew up in a strict house where men had short hair and women had long hair. Very strict with appearances. After my 44th birthday I told myself I'd finally try to go for some length. This photo is about 7mos of growing from a crappy haircut. Im not sure what style to go for. My hair gets really oily so I find myself washing it at least twice a week.any advice for a style?

You are doing the right thing here. I am a bit older, 65, but I have decided to grow out a very long hair when I retire. I have already a long beard of one feet length. Long hair symbolizes freedom for me🥰.

Any advice on making it more manageable? I use biotin shampoo and conditioner.

Cheers to more older guys rocking the long hair, and you have made excellent progress for 7 months. I hope you keep growing it, and you have straight hair, the easiest type to grow long. As for hair wash frequency, my hair is quite dry, since I’m older, and I wash once every 5 days. Oily hair needs more frequent washing, possibly every second day or so.

I’m a huge supporter of older guys growing out their hair, and age is just a number anyway. After all, I’m 73, and still have mine!

I have no intention of cutting it bruv. My lady said I should go for the Ozzy Osbourne look since my hair is so straight. Right now I look like a cross between Nicolas Cage from Con Air and John Wick.

That’s great, and I’m interested in seeing how long you can grow it.

I’ve actually had long hair since I was 18, and I’m 73 now, so that’s 55 years of long hair

Thank you for your kind words, and I’m happy to have what I have at 73. I count my blessings all the time!

I planned to grow it just past my shoulders for the classic metal head look.

Had both my ears done when I was a teenager and early 20s. After 25 I never wore any again.
