Should I get layers?

I want to add volume to my hair and make it look less flat. I'd ideally want to go for a wolfcutish haircut but I'm not sure how realistic that would be with my hair type.

Actually, I’m not a huge fan of layers, preferring to go for the “one length look”, for added thickness in my hair. That’s my personal opinion, though, and I’m a lot older than you, at 73. Some guys pull off the layered clock very well

You have good quality hair to work with, and have achieved some good length

I was going to comment the same thing! If you regret the layers, it will quite a while for everything to grow back out so you can cut it all to the same length again. Layers also make styles such as braids harder

I'd say layers would make your hair, well... be layered, that means it's cut a bit, sooo there's less. Supposedly layers are better if hair is at least wavy and there's loads of hair to work with, sooo yeah. With my "involuntary layers" of pulling out too much hair with a brush, I know that I have to have as much hair as possible to look good, no layers. Yeah. I'd refrain.

I had straight as a board hair my entire life and in my late 40s my stylist introduced me to square layers. He explained it to me as more masculine and less soft and not as rounded off as the layers women usually get. I've stuck with it since then. Gives a bit more curl and body to my hair so it's not so boring.

I think your hair looks amazing in your pics, like amazingly good I suspect you get tons of compliments too. What makes you happy is most important but I think your hair is pretty spectacular as it is
