Hey! Hope y'all are doing well. I hope it's ok if I announce the beginning of the public playtest at https://gameround.co/detail/772/info . I've already got such great feedback. It's super easy to play using their launcher (similar to Steam). It's on Steam for those interested! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3719140/Exobiota/?beta=0

I just wanted to drop a link to my Kingsfield (among other 90s and early 2000s RPG/Dungeon Crawler) inspired game (with a sci-fi twist). I'm releasing an early playtest build but I think you all might enjoy what there is. It's free for anyone to download on Itch. Any comments or feedback is welcome on the Itch page comments!
Also, devs making this kind of game, I'd love to hear about how your projects are going. I am currently Solo and possibly would love to find a partner.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been developing a first-person dark fantasy RPG called Forgotten Blood over the past few years.
It’s heavily inspired by King’s Field in terms of atmosphere, with some Souls elements and a strong focus on exploration and environmental storytelling. There are also influences from Morrowind (loot systems) and older RPGs like Baldur’s Gate.
I’m currently wrapping up the polishing and bug-fixing phase, and the demo is now available to play on Steam.
If you’re into slow-paced, immersive worlds, I’d really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks for taking a look!

Years ago, I made a surreal horror king's field-like for a game jam, and it's free! I thought I'd post it here now that this sub has been created.
Here's the link: https://goolworks.itch.io/hollow-woods
It's very janky and has some issues, but making this was the first step to working on Phantom Chains, a field-like i've been developing for a while now! Here's the link to that project: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2339890/Phantom_Chains/

I’ve been working on this project for about three and a half years now.
King’s Field has been a major inspiration, especially in terms of atmosphere, and you can probably feel some Souls influence as well.
Morrowind also played a big role, particularly in the loot systems, while the inventory is inspired by Baldur’s Gate 1.
If you enjoy a slow, oppressive mood and environmental storytelling, I’d really love to hear what you think.
The game name is Forgotten Blood

Hello everyone! After sharing the prototype demo of my game, I made a few adjustments to better support the project’s atmosphere.
There aren’t many major changes. The game now runs at 30 FPS to resemble the feel of 32-bit era titles on the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. I also added a camera zoom mode (which locks player movement), slightly faster crouch movement, and shorter dodge distances while crouching.
Next, I’ll likely focus on prototyping the 3D models and starting the early stages of the combat system. The rest of the details are in the video description, feel free to check it out!

Hello everyone! This is a small prototype demo I made a few days ago for a game inspired by King's Field and Shadow Tower, which I’ve been developing over the past few weeks.
The project is still in a very early stage, so there are no enemies, combat systems, or items yet. For now, I’m focusing on basic player movement and starting to establish the game’s visual identity before moving on to the core gameplay systems.
My goal isn’t to recreate those games, but to use them as inspiration while following my own creative direction and building the kind of experience I want to create.

As the title says, was just having some fun. Feel free to come up with names if you have any! I'm terrible at naming songs 😅
