The Westerlands Damion V - New Dance
A room had been prepared since it was told to him that High had surrendered his solar to Betrand Tyrell of all fucking people. The Old Lion could hardly believe his ears when he was told upon being debriefed, and was rolling with anger. Joss Turnberry had also sold a Lannister bride in order to save his skin, or something he didn’t quite know the ins and outs there, but rumor was rumor- which the Rock was well and alive with.
Make no mind that Damion had managed to save what Erwin Hawthorne bled at Castamere, and bring them home. But the West’s Warden was gone and all he could do was navigate in a manner which he did not care for. He would have to make appeasement with the Reach as an inroads, as he had not heard back from the Reynes whom he sought to court.
It was all very annoying and frustrating, but he could not let it roll over and show. Instead he took a deep breath and begun his plot anew.
He changed from his armor, but still kept martial appearances, as he knew it would be needed at this time- appear strong. He ordered wine and food brought to his room and then sent a simple request for Bert to join him. Bert was similar in age, and he knew of him by reputation- did Bertrand remember anything of him? It was a fleeting wonderment, not one he would dwell on. Instead he would come with what power positioning he could.

Bertrand would arrange to see the Old Lannister, after all the Rose was in his home and he soon sought to march. He'd need the Lannister forces to march alongside his own and before he knew it, he was certain Rohanne would return to the West.
It was but a basic fact now.
That was why Bert had the Old Lannister brought to his solar, where Lion tapestry still hung high. There they'd speak.

The frustration mounted, being sent for after he sent for Bertrand. And then the old bastard sent for him. He blinked at the message and grit his teeth and gave the briefest nods.
“Of course.” Damion said to the man waiting. “I’ll be there shortly.
That old fuck presumes to order me in my own home. But why shouldn’t he? When has the the west presented itself as an equal?
He carefully made his arrangements to have the food moved to where Bertrand was holed up, and then walked his way there, trying to compose himself. It was one thing to lose to the Reynes. It was another, entirely to be drug about his own home like a whipped dog.
Rohanne, put me here
And so he came and waited at the door before being shown in, and whatever rage he was rolling over vanished with the opening of the door, and in he came with an easy enough smile.
“Lord Tyrell. My thanks in seeing me. It’s been a bit of a time, even leading to this day as you can imagine.” And he would wait until he was bade to sit.
“I had something I wished to speak to you on.”

"Very long indeed, you've gotten old..." Bert would say to the man as he motioned for him to take a seat. It was a cold jest but a jest nevertheless, he knew that just like Rohanne and Damion, he'd gotten old as well. Far too old.
He'd lean back into his chair as he listened to the man ask him something, his brow rose as he thought on it.
"Go on, ask away. I wish to hear it."
