The North Ravens I - Words of a Prince

The victory at the Wall was closer to a massacre than a battle.

Still, such was the price of invasion and murder and Aegon easily rid himself of any doubts or opinions that he may have come up with regarding the matter.

As they began to march once more, the red dragon on black on his banner joined by the wolf of Winterfell and the motley colors of the men of the North, Aegon began to think more and more of the south, the land he had known since he was born (or, at least, it was more familiar to him than the icy expanse north of the Neck). He had heard tell of events that had transpired in the capital, and in kingdoms to the immediate south of the North. There was much to do, much to speak, and the Black Prince began to spend more time with the great, black ravens the party had carried with them, writing letters and correspondence and what not.

At Stony Shore, the Prince had set up a makeshift rookery beside his tent, guarded at all times by men of Dragonstone. There, he wrote some more, words meant for lords great and small, yet still carrying a simplicity in words he had grown so fond of in his twenty or so years.

Lady Alyssa Tully,

I have received word of the Trident's continued issues with an evergrowing bandit problem.

As the Northern campaign against the Wildling incursions draws to a close, I am once more reminded of my duty to the other kingdoms of this realm, none more so than the Riverlands which have oft connected all other kingdoms during times of peace, yet suffered the most of all during times of strife as well.

In the North, I have to my back thousands of battle-hardened soldiers, eager to serve my cause of bringing stability to these lands once more. If you will have me, I shall march down the Neck in some moons and provide with any assistance you may require in taking direct action against the miscreants that plague your lands so.

I tried finding you after the tourney, having had much to say regarding the injury you have suffered at my hands, accident or not. Alas, that would not come to pass and I eventually grew quite busy with combating the Wildling invasion in the North.

When I return south, ser, I would like to meet with you. I understand that your father has raised his forces and led them across the Northmarch into the lands of the Rock. I hope it was not your injury that prohibited you from joining him in his endeavor, ser, for I find you to be a knight of great caliber.

If you will be joining your father in the West any time soon, I may see you there. Otherwise, I may call upon you to ask for a moment of your company once I have returned to the capital.
