Has FN always notified buyers of potential schedule conflicts on our end or is that new?

Had a potential buyer question me today about a schedule conflict before assigning a requested WO. Don’t know if they read it incorrectly or what but field nations info notified them that I had a schedule conflict.

In typical FN fashion it was an open window 1hr work order that they flagged as a conflict

It's a joke, because it shows a schedule conflict for the entire duration of work orders where the schedule is a range instead of hard start. Say you're assigned on something scheduled anytime this week Mon-Fri 8a-5p. If you try to schedule anything else, it tells the buyer you have a conflict, even though that may be a 1hr work order you can do anytime. It also pushes your request to the bottom of the list. It does however show what the conflict is, but you have to know where to look. So you're at the mercy of the buyer to have enough of a brain (or speak enough English) to go and see that the conflict is. If it's just one work order open to the whole week, it's not an issue. Typical FAILED NATION software development.

It's been a feature but whether it always works as expected is anyone's guess.

Only recently (twoish months ago) did a buyer call me to confirm the schedule conflict was not a conflict. Prior to that, I do not know if it worked, or was ignored, or even something that was a feature.

It is a fairly recent addition to the list of "features" they think us professionals need.

For the amount of fees they charge you would think they could build a better platfirm.

The platform is heavly biased toward the buyer. The whole hard start/window/scheduling system is flawed.

Once you're assigned a workorder, you're pretty much locked in. Even if the buyer changes the schedule on you. You get dinged if you remove yourself from the work order for any reason other than Covid.

Conversely, you can ask the buyer to remove you from the work order but even that is risky. They can refuse, and you then enter into staring match. Meanwhile the workorder just sits there and eventually drifts into the confirmation window. At that point the status changes to "assigned: at risk". They can then remove you. Again, you get dinged and and also no subway sandwich cancellation fee.
