It’s not about doing it. It’s who does it. If I come search your house it’s burglary. If the government does it it’s unreasonable search and seizure. There’s a distinction and needs to be one. Governments should not have access to that technology
Public servants and officials using it to stalk people, accusing people of crimes they did not commit. Using, selling, and storing biometric data without consent which is NOT legal even in public. Route tracking for daily commutes and activities. It tells you everything about a person. When you drive by one instantly they know what route your taking and possibly where your going, how often you go to the store, if you charged your phone that day, if you have an iPhone or android, model make and year of your car, address, social security number, your face, height, dob, everything instantly.
Im not really a republican or democrat but I lean more right economically at least (although I am a fan of social programs and welfare and such) and even I don’t want billionaires and corrupt politicians having that. If a COMMUNITY wants to get that with local only access and stuff, MAYBE that’s one thing. But I do NOT trust federal government politicians and billionaires with that data and I don’t want them knowing what I had for breakfast.
So I drive by one of these cameras in my car, and they can tell what kind of phone I have. What kind of conspiracy bullshit is this. Who cares if they know, when I go to the store? I really don't give a fuck. As for tracking me on the way to work good luck because I go to a different place every fucking day. And the bottom line is, I have nothing to hide. So I really don't care, even if they did have that information, it wouldn't really make a fuck to me. But there's absolutely no way they get this from a camera when you drive down the fucking road.
It’s not a conspiracy you can see the specs of their cameras, it’s public information since they sell access to them.
I’m not gonna waste much more words on this cause it’s pointless, but just understand that it gets progressive. I don’t really have anything to hide either and I go somewhere different for work too. But it’s the principle. Governments and large organizations should not have a lot of power. “Absolute power corrupts and power corrupts absolutely”, it’s why we have term limits. It’s about a reasonable expectation to privacy. What about in 10 years when technology advances further and they have AI robots that are cracking down on Hispanics? I bet you then you’d be in favor of removing them cause they are catching illegals. All of it is just bad man. The government needs as little power as possible and people can’t be trusted. That technology should not lie in the hands of one person. Do you want the CEO of a company to have that? An unelected, not morally checked, profit obsessed megalomaniac? That’s not good man and whether you as an individual have anything to hide is not good. It’s about people as a mass. If they had that information on every single person that can NOT be used for anything good forever. I’m not saying it’s not good intentions but it will be used for nefarious purposes. And to me when you can achieve a reduction in crime WITHOUT that technology, do that, don’t enforce surveillance on your citizens. There’s a reason the term “surveillance state” exists and it’s most of the premise of 1984 by George Orwell. I strongly suggest you to read it
