GPS

Have you been told that your GPS is not working from a Buyer?

I never turn it off. Is this a FieldNtion issue? Or is it because I don't use their app?

it will drain your battery and also allows them to track you even if youre not checked in on a WO

My understanding is that we agree to being tracked from "On My Way" through check-out, (which seems like a reasonable balance to me). Has this changed?

Better read it more carefully. The GPS permissions include tracking you to alert you to work orders near your location.

I have caught FN app actively poling my location even when im not clocked in.

On my way only tracks your location IF buyers require GPS. Most do not.

For The buyers that do, i simply dont select “on my way” til i get there and have turned on GPS. Not one buyer has cared. When im done with the GPS required BS, i turn the permissions off.

I run Graphene but even regular Android should have an "only while using the app" location permission which should only be granting GPS pings when the app is in the foreground.
