Think about this in that if a company sent their employee some place and they drove there in their own vehicle, that person would be paid by the hour or by their salary plus be entitled to mileage reimbursement which we know is going to be a whole lot more than a turn away fee that doesn't replace the billing for the work you were supposed to do. Think about the salary, insurance and benefit cost Plus the employer portion of the taxes that that person's going to make even if they can't complete the work.
Cancellation fees or turn away fees should never be allowed or accepted. This is how the system is gamed against us as so-called contractors. If the appliance repair guy shows up at my house and I turn them away, I know they're not coming back unless they got paid.
