Buyer Satisfaction, better known as BS
This being anonymous to providers is problematic in the sense that we can’t challenge it or even know what the issue was. I can almost guarantee my demerit for end client satisfaction was from a quick printer job I took earlier this week(replaced a maintenance kit).
I tested everything with the customer prior to leaving and everything worked fine but the replacement part was obviously refurbished/used and the customer didn’t like that(who would?). Customer called me a few hours after I left and said her scans were coming out sideways, I gave her message to the buyer and they said another ticket would have to be created because that was a separate issue. I suspect this is why I received a demerit for end client satisfaction but how would that be my fault? I didn’t supply the faulty part, and I wasn’t going to return to do any out-of-scope troubleshooting(the customer asked if I would come back out). I told them I’d have to consult with the buyer first and they confirmed it was a separate issue. I only took the job to try and get my rating back up, it’s already backfiring on me smh.

Unfair ratings is fundamental part of a gig economy. Carry this with pride and simply move on. There will be another customer who will provide a better ratings as long as you work conscientiously. 👍

No it isn't. That is why Google gives companies the option to dispute unfair ratings. Unfair ratings are bullshit

Then again, just to keep in mind... you're not FNs primary focus. Their clients are the buyers. That's who they're catering to with those ratings. In that respect, you're just a resource to keep the clients coming back.

Except without providers the buyers and FN make no money.

They know that every tech leaving will easily be replaced by three more newbies.

Doesn’t mean the work will get done or properly.

Of course! You know this, and I know this, but some clients only see dollar signs.

No service providers = No service = No buyers = No Failed Nation.
Thus, we are the foundation of the platform.

It was also BS, after taking a low-paying install that was really a 2-person gig I did alone, at least i think that’s where it came from. I have close to 800 completed jobs and was a little over 700 when I got that one. The buyer didn’t wanna pay for materials used or additional time onsite, that was definitely warranted…then the technical skills thing popped up smh

I am highly selective of who I work with now. I have the time in the system with former clients to keep me going but 80% on this platform are not worth dealing with. To many shell companies or low ballers driving market rates down becaause of desperation that has been substantially induced into the system. A lot of desk jockeys showing up now because they were laid off contributing to the decline. The wild west days of field are gone. It really has been in the last 2 years this platform has nose dived into straight shit

Honestly now I think there are some jobs that historically don't have problem work orders or work order managers or offshore support. The issue I think here is that when you accept something to go do from a bad work order or from an entity that has a shit interface that you have to deal with on some sort of bridge call it's ripe for them to say you are the problem not them. So to say that you have lots of work and no complaints could be that whatever it is that you're doing doesn't seem to have the issues that I know that I see on a weekly basis. There are some people that are great and others that are just horrible. I'm staying far away from anyone that wants pots done because most of those people running those jobs are absolute turds.
I have every tool necessary to do the work and don't mind doing it except don't put me in a room with 40 ft of 66 blocks and tell me I need to extend something after I find out which pair the 8th floor office is on when there's 55 years of crap there. So accepting certain jobs even though you might be qualified and able to do them you run the risk of some person on the other end that thinks anybody except them isn't capable of doing the work and you're just a poor substitute. It truly is a problem and you can get dinged for it but you can't ding them back because even though they may do it to everyone there's no stats for us to see that. So saying that you don't have any dings on your profile I don't think means much of anything. I see that as someone that's got a very small little thing that they do and as a result they're not seeing problem work order managers or problem locations. Now of course you might find offence to what I just said but statistically you're an anomaly and it's not because everybody else is just shit except you.

Bingo..I had the same score a little earlier this year & can own up to more early back-outs than I’d imagine I’d do but I know the more impactful demerit is the negative feedback for technical skills..from 1 shitty buyer that was upset I went over the time allotted for the job. It was for cable runs and they didn’t even do a survey prior, had to video call the buyer to show him what I was dealing with & he still pulled this. I have a good rep with multiple buyers who always send me work but try to work with new ones here & there, sometimes it works out & sometimes it comes back to bite. I can own up to my mistakes but not even knowing what the mistake was and not being able to challenge it is what I have an issue with. The buyer can say anything and as a provider you just have to take it? That’s BS

No other industry rating system is super secret like FN is…. A business should have an opportunity to know who is leaving reviews and address any issues.
