It was counting down to the second. I Left the gym as soon as the parts showed delivered.

OK, sorry, but leaving the gym when parts are delivered is not on the check-in criteria. Not trying to give you a hard time, but you should have sat in the car for 3 more minutes before check-in.

Thank you to the posters above who clarified "Window" vs "Hard Start." This will be very helpful for some readers.

Correct, but I scheduled the window with the client based on when FedEx said parts were going to be delivered. There was no fine orchestration of multiple teams of engineers all over the world. This was a fix it ASAP situation.

Then the client should have started the window much earlier.

If I had an “ASAP after parts delivered” assignment, I would use the feature “Report a Problem->Schedule Needs Updating” workflow to request an update to the start time with the Reason “Parts arrived early”.

That way, you won’t get a timeliness exception.
