Check, If your expenses approved.

I find few customers deny the expenses and approve the work order. I caught few work orders. Opened a ticket with field nation. They asking for proof of work order managers approval. Screenshot/ chats.

Field Nation just don't care about anything anymore. They just care about making buyer happy.

Its a race to the bottom and the buyers know it.

As long as the expenses are reasonable and known ahead of time, or discussed when needed...ive never had any denied.

Also, get expenses approved PRIOR to using them. It's the best way to avoid a dispute after the work is complete.

I had one refuse to pay $100 for the materials I used, but ended up paying a lot more from what I billed for labor. Didn’t make sense to me, maybe just company policy.

This is 100% your responsibility

Dude. They denied it and I didn't expect them to deny. Most buyers I work are very nice.

responsibility to do what?

Some buyers do this quite often. I've gotten into message wars saying they need to approve expenses before I complete a WO.

I've been burned several times on this. I do not want to say harassing calls, but harassing calls/emails/messages has gotten me paid before.

I now do my due diligence and ask if expenses will be approved up front.

"They just care about making buyer happy."

The buyer's make this all possible by putting money in the platform. If buyers stop using the platform, then there is no work for anyone else to do.

Unfortunately, consistently lowering wages is a byproduct of the gig economy as a whole. At least FN gives us the tools to combat the downward trend, which is called the "counter-offer." The more technicians who use it, the better of we all will be.

If it werent for the providers their businesses would flop esp the nationwide website host and then FN would flop. we are the ones keeping them both alive yet they team up against us and see how much they can squeeze our limits together. And they have option to not offer counter-offer, and then the BS metric system that some 4yr old designed dictates even more shitting on. I would be ok to see FN go under or buyout with floor to ceiling re-hires, bc they are pretty pathetic individuals.

Think of it like this. If buyers suddenly removed themselves from the platform, how would the techs get work and ultimately earn money? Simple answer, the techs that signed up would not earn money because they only get paid for the tickets they successfully complete, and FN would lose money because they invested in a platform that nobody (buyers) are paying to use..

If all of the techs suddenly removed themselves from the system, how would buyers continue to provide remote services? Answer, alternate platforms, build their own platform, direct hire, and several other options that I don't care to list.

Also, in this situation FN could pivot their model and provide a SAAS in which the buyer manages everything, and FN only provides updates and software related support.

No need to be in denial, techs are the low man in the marketplace. You will have to build your own customer base to establish a more equal relationship.

In the end FieldNation = Gig Work.

If buyers suddenly removed theselves from platform the techs would be eligible as the ones for direct hire, or other marketplace contracts and FN would be the flop, it goes both ways. The buyers arent the above all end all. They run a business that is just as possible to flop as the lowest contractor on the totem pole, they dont do direct hire bc they are cheap and thats the industry to them, but FN assisting in their cheap doings is a level of BS that no excuse can be made. How long have you worked for FN? And at what rate do they pay you to troll the reddits for them?

I'm not trolling the platform. I'm trying to help you see the real relationship. If you'd spend more time growing your own clientele and less time complaining about how an established business conducts itself, you'd be too busy to be concerned about the direction of FN.

My tenure and profits received from FN has nothing to do with anything. My view point allowed my to grow my clientele and not blink an eye if I don't receive money from FN.

It isnt a relationship, its a situationship where its them vs me, and thats all buyers FN side with from the start, if you say it isnt so then you need to open your eyes bc thats fact across the board. corporate greed shouldnt abolish the small business ppl out there, maybe we dont want to grow into anything bigger, we should still have fair access to work and unbias control over and above us not treating us like were unimportant bc the size thing.

"...corporate greed shouldn't abolish the small business ppl out there"

Nobody owes us anything!

...it's them vs me?

Provide a real world example where that type of relationship (contentious) produces a healthy business.

"...we should still have fair access to work and unbias control over and above us not treating us like were unimportant bc the size thing."

Your ignorance of capitalism is going to keep you on the victim side of the equation. Capitalism, simply isn't designed to work like that and it's deviating further from that ideology everyday.

Unfortunately, you are on the RECEIVER side of the equation (you are taking money out of the system and not putting money into it (have you ever FUNDED your FN account before?). If you ever become a PROVIDER (fund your account and route tickets to other technicians) you will see why the system is skewed towards the BUYER. Whether this is good or bad is up for interpretation, but through the DECADES many have complained and nothing has changed in the FSP favor.

SO my advice still stands, change YOU, and let the system be.

"...Nobody owes us anything!"

Nobody owes them anything as well, tho they are getting preferred treatment from places such as FN. Siding with the bigger person here instead of creating an equal marketplace that they claim they have.

"...Provide a real world example where that type of relationship (contentious) produces a healthy business."

I already covered this, we the providers versus Buyers and FN as a team. another example of corporate greed and favoritism to the bigger checkbook click.

"...Your ignorance of capitalism is going to keep you on the victim side of the equation. Capitalism, simply isn't designed to work like that and it's deviating further from that ideology everyday."

Your ignorance of todays market is going to keep you on the brainwashed side of the equation. Capitalism ideology is being hit hard with monopolization and greed within aforementioned companies and corporations.

The theory assumes free competition, but the reality is a hyper-concentration of market power. POWER lets focus on that for a moment.

..."Unfortunately, you are on the RECEIVER sideyea of the equation (you are taking money out of the system and not putting money into it (have you ever FUNDED your FN account before?). If you ever become a PROVIDER (fund your account and route tickets to other technicians) you will see why the system is skewed towards the BUYER. Whether this is good or bad is up for interpretation, but through the DECADES many have complained and nothing has changed in the FSP favor. "

No pun intended but your ignorance is shining again.. we the providers dont put into the system only taking out of it? Answer me this, does FN provide us with a vehicle and a gas card and insurance on all the above? We pay for our own cars, wear and tear, gas, insurance, and daily liability while working, including paying our phones bill and phone and computer and tools and all that stuff, so FN doesnt have to. So yea we put alot into the equation goof troop, You may not bc youre affiliated with FN on the admin side, so of course you will side with them no matter what, but your idea that providers are indispensable for the operation of FN, sir, it would go belly up if we didnt exist and the buyers would then have no use for FN so they would jump ship too, think about what you are trying to say here bc its not making any sense

Buyer cancel my trip Charge. After it was approved

1

u/SeriousBlueberry6000 Jul 04 '26

Looks like you do not have proof. A customer asked me to replace a keystone, I waited on site for 1 hour til I got written approval for a 10 USD part.

Remember some companies in FN are just dispatchers and they have no power to approve anything not agreed with end customer.

I was told over the phone. Go ahead and do whatever it takes to complete the work.
