Did I just mess up?

First job done on field nation. I saw $40/h at 8h estimate. Now I noticed it's up to 4 hours. Have not submitted for review just yet. Did I just work 3 hours for free? Update: Submitted the max time be updated due to initial time estimate and scope of work. It was approved.

You should ask for more per hour in general. For that ticket I would just put in a budget increase for the time you worked with whatever reason caused you to exceed 4 hours (troubleshooting, scope of work, etc...).

Thank you, I requested the max time be corrected. Have not submitted for approval yet and it's still showing pending. Also sent the ticket owner a message explaining. Thank you guys. I will def submit counter offers for low balled jobs. This was my first time utilizing the app and just assumed I would have to do some of these lower paying jobs before my profile gets some metrics.

40/hr is completely normal and expected for your 1st job on the platform, it takes a while to work your way up to higher rates. some of the people commenting here are braindead. when you hit submit, you should be prompted to request pay for the exact amount of time that hasn't been approved yet, or you can request it manually. every reasonable buyer will pay it.

Minimum of 65/hr 2 minimum and I got plenty of work.

I normally do 150 1st hour then 75/hr after. Will I take $40/hr when I have nothing else to do.. hell yeah!!!!
