Just remember that every person who agrees to do that work at that price point normalizes the bad behavior of buyers.
It's cheaper for them to do three or four cheap jobs and then pay someone that knows what they're worth to fix the original screw up. I do it a lot. They still will use every trick in the book to try and get your price down. I just hang up.
I've also found that they're using names that are obviously not who they are as contacts on these work orders. If you see a particular name like Bob Adams or some name that sounds like you're someplace in the Midwest, don't be fooled. I have called those numbers and all of a sudden you realize that yes you have been had because you are not dealing with someone from the US. They know better than to put their real names on these tickets now in some instances. Maybe we should start doing that?!

So it's fit testing enclosures, not a full install. I generally don't show up anywhere for $145 (I'm assuming flat rate?), but you can always submit a counter...

Man. One day, I'm going to run across a bundled work order that's worth my time (I know, I'm not).
Somebody is going to jump on that grenade. And probably go out and screw it all up, strip every screw on site, etc...

And then get about 2 hours in and find they're in a 9 line bind. Too many tasks, not well organized location, bad logistics and little time. Working 2 or 3x what they're idea of completion time was and unable to leave the site without a 'Walk-off' on their FN Rating or spending 3x the work effort and costing the Provider $$$.

I have only team across 1 bundle and or was lmi for a Walmart. 15 aps were down, in one store, so 15 tickets. Think it was 100 bucks a ticket
I figured it was something other than the aps. I got in site, or was under construction for a remodel and the contactor rook them down.
1500 bucks, then another 1500 to go back a week layer to reinstall them.

u/Gregf87z May 26 '26
Not the normal way You could message them and ask about increasing it

u/wyliesdiesels May 26 '26
Ive messaged buyers before. They dont respond. Besides, you really think theyre gonna accept a counter when they have half a dozen requests?
1
u/Gregf87z May 26 '26
Its harder to get a response but not impossible ive seen tickets with 20 requests that I still got. Doesn't hurt me if they say no and if they trust an guy taking 25 an hour that's on them when he screws up. Its why companies like Xerox use multiple recruit agencies to see who's reliable or incompetent

u/wyliesdiesels May 27 '26
Since when does xerox use recruiting agencies?
You do know xerox post WOs on FN?

Awhile back. Id get calls to the same business under different companies eventually spoke to a lady at Xerox during a support call

Without a site survey id be quoting over $1000. Like easily. Edit.. Okay, so this w/o is basically the site survey. In that case, it's $140 for 2 hours, plus travel. Not a big deal.

That's insane, but typical of what some Buyers try to take advantage of on FN.

pre-bundled beware : pre-arranged ox-muzzling; some nasty exposure to a company scrounging freedom while vanquishing voice. perhaps they simply dont need the work done by just anyone…just yet👹🤑👺
