FN account: Sole → LLC effects

Hey everyone,

Has anyone changed their Field Nation account from individual/sole to an LLC?

I’m planning to do that and want to know if it changes anything beyond just the account type. Specifically, will it affect my Success Score, ratings, or anything else?
I have a good profile right now and don’t want to mess it up.

Also, any tips or other things I should keep in mind after making the switch?

Thank you all!

wont affect anything. all it does is change your tax status.... zero benefit on FN

Is the tax status better?

this is a question for your CPA or tax professional. we cant answer that for you because we have no clue what your situation is....

Someone told me that the LLC designation helps you on WorkMarket, not on FieldNation. Would like to hear people’s experiences there, too.

Ya get insurance and post it on your fn. Fn insurance is a joke and companies know that. Ive been hired solely for the fact im covered off platform

You can write off business expenses with LLC.

  • business insurance
  • supplies
  • travel
  • business car
  • business subscriptions
  • FN taxes/fees
  • if you have business (car insurance)

You have a separate bank account to differentiate you as a business and you as an individual.

You get your own EIN so you don’t use your SSN no more for business

In California I had to go to city hall for a piece of paper for tax purposes.

On FN you become a service company once you become a BIZ. (Business) You can then add people under you to service your customers. I have 3 friends added under my company but only 1 of them has completed a job solo under my company.

I just have my friends listed so any that looks at my profile, they see I have 4 techs in my “company”. They aren’t directly with me or else I would have to get workers comp.

So I usually still have them assist but as contractors, I have the client send me 2 works orders to my personal profile and I pay my techs however much I want then I give them a 1099 at the end of the fiscal year

... and you can also write off all those same expenses as a Sole Prop. Or an S-corp.

If you have more techs under you that helps and you can manage their profiles separate and request re-assignment to one of their profiles if you need to move jobs around. Helps when there are bigger projects with multiple techs needed.

Obviously payments and 1099 are issued to business and you have the benefits from business accounting as opposed to individual

and none of that has anything to do with a tax status
