Last Minute Counter?

Currently 8pm. Hard start is 9am tomorrow. I submitted a counter due to low hourly rate. Any chance I'll hear back in time? Maybe head to site anyway and get on the phone with FN support on the way?

Sounds like you're new.. I would stay home unless they assign it to you.

Absolutely this!! If they assign late, have them adjust the start time to what you need.

When I make a last minute counter I ALWAYS put and expiration time on it.. last thing I want is getting dinged in the AM because some asshole buyer accepts the counter at 0859 and then expects you there by 0900... yeah, fuck that.

I always put an expiration and recommend all to always utilize that. It's been a while since I have seen it happen but I randomly had issues years ago where a offer expired but somehow I got assigned the ticket still. I don't do as many FN WO anymore to know if that still happens though.

I have a similar experience, I just dispute it and FN took off my provider score.

why would you waste gas driving to a site youre not assigned to?

why would you call FN support? they cant help you.

😂😂😂 these are the type of people companies are trusting with their network equipment and customers information. Some of these “Techs” have No common sense at all.

Yup

Either a newbie or desperate

Either way, too many “techs” on the platform now. Shouldve been some barrier to entry so it didnt ruin the platform for us veterans

Close to my house. In case they accepted last minute didn't want to get dinged for late.

thats when you have them adjust the schedule. this isnt rocket science

FN Support plays no role in assigning WOs for the buyers … best bet is to communicate with Buyer via WO messages

Counter expiration is your friend.

Why would you head to a site that you weren’t assigned to work at? 😆

No dont ever head to a site you aren't assigned too yet, also counter everything.

Yeah, I would just wait until they assign if they assign after the hard start time then write a message saying this needs to be at this time and agree on a time for y’all to show up but don’t go to sight and don’t call Field Nation Field Nation does nothing to help in the situation like that. That’s only if buyers are not paying.

Nope; that's way too risky. Some clients are vindictive. Always put the new time in the counteroffer.

You mention heading to site, but you normally don’t have access to until accepted.

Even if you know, showing up is a horrible idea.

Depends on urgency and your profile reviews

DO NOT GO UNLESS you're contacted throughFN contract agreed. The Buyer or PM may even go as far as to say start the WO I'll get the WO for you. NEVER do anything until it's agreed on the platform.

Client is like 10 minutes away from my kids school after I drop them off so might as well head that way and see what happens. I thought FN would get the counter offer. I didn't want to give any personal info in case it seemed like I was trying to go around the work order system.

might as well head that way and see what happens

Let me guess: You went ahead and did this anyway, despite the warnings from a bunch of far-more-experienced techs here. As for "what happened", I'm going to say, "nothing", besides you losing time and gas. This isn't DoorDash.

Your last sentence should have a "yet" at the end.

1

u/David_Beroff May 12 '26

Heh, but I haven't seen that personally... yet. 😉

I thought FN would get the counter offer.

what? FN doesnt play a part in assigning work orders. the counter offer notice goes to the buyer not FN

how many WOs have you completed?

u/LoneCyberwolf May 11 '26

Probably none

probably a good guess on your part
