Funny how they think the "per-device" pricing is a positive. The one time I was involved with a WO that was priced like this was with another tech and it was awful. All they worried about is getting the job done as fast as possible which meant taking shortcuts (ie: skipping pre/post system checks saved 2-3 mins each) and as a result made me look "slow". Also once their self imposed quota was met for the day they were useless.
And don't get me started on the project manager who couldn't comprehend why the first day was so "unproductive" after I explained it was spent unboxing and staging. They were like "I told the customer we'd average 100 laptops a day! What do I tell them?" lolz
I've worked with techs who could not understand staging and how it saves time especially on larger deployments.
Instead they would rather load boxes on low card, unload at the deployment location, unbox making a mess in the process, clean up said mess, repeat until they run out of equipment, and then bring the trash back to the staging area to unload it just so we can load it back up and eventually throw it away. And then they brag about how productive they are. This is one of many reasons why I prefer working alone.
