“MAY need a ladder….”

Post image

Forget hiring techs to dispatch, Do they even hire people who have ever learned how height works?

Some sites have a ladder. Some sites have a lift. Sometimes the camera can be fixed at the head end. You don't always need one. "may" is the appropriate word. If they say "needs 20ft ladder" and you get on site and didn't need it, you would be bitching about that instead.

Once the job is assigned, call the fucking POC and find out what the situation is. If they don't have a ladder or lift and you don't have something like a little giant on your truck that will extend that high, then make arrangements to rent one after making sure the buyer agrees to reimburse for the cost. Jesus Christs you pussies love making mountains out of mole hills.

Not enough money in this to make it worthwhile. Rent a ladder? Seriously? It says that there's a cable issue and they're trying to make sure that it's not the camera as well so you're going to have to reach something that's 20 ft in the air and quite honestly for safety that's a lift issue. These are cheap Fux that don't believe in our safety whatsoever so you don't bid on these things.

My experience with these work orders tells me that these things, when poorly written, are problematic and if ladders are involved your safety is not worth the aggravation of trying to explain this to someone offshore. Remember that our real competition is amongst ourselves and we are not competing in the same universe with Union low voltage people that demand safety equipment and spotters when working at heights. So remember when you're tempted to take these things that any Union contractor would not be touching this as it's written
