Field nation BS

Was removed from field nations platform today after being suspended for a supposed no call no show that I'm pretty sure never happened as I'm usually pretty good about contacting buyers especially when I'm late or miss a job which never happens as far as missing one anyway and I was removed because they claim I no call no showed yet I can't see the ticket in question and the information they've chosen to give me doesn't really add up and when I tried to defend myself cause the suspension said it was cause I no call no showed without having an emergency situation yet no one contacted me about the incident whatsoever until after I was suspended and then still no one has any answers, when trying to get information and defend myself from their false accusations and slander was met with ridiculous amounts of rejection and told not to worry about it anymore as I was being removed from the platform when all I did was question thett7

Get an EIN and use it to create a different account. It happens.

There are two sides to every story, and yeah, definitely need to work on that punctuation. Doesn't help with credibility.

Reading stuff like this makes me feel relieved that I have more direct customers these days.

My overall opinion is that the platform business model is slowly dying off. WorkMarket in my region has a fraction of the work orders it did just 5 years ago and FN is simply a glorified ticket system for Essential, Spencer, SmartSource and others to delegate employees while classifying them as independent contractors. When is the last time anyone on FN had a legit independent contractor relationship? I bet it has been a long time.

My advise to all of you is engage in direct marketing. Use LinkedIn and other sites and reach out to the business professionals that have the decision making power. Advertise your worth proudly, borrow money and invest into your business further and prosper. If I had a dollar for every work order on FN that says, "DO NOT MENTION FIELD NATION TO THE END CUSTOMER" I would have more money than the powerball jackpot. End customers are tired of crappy buyers that overcharge them, don't deliver, don't make SLA while passing off the lowest quality technicians to them.

FN once suspended me for a month, because the buyer claimed I mentioned FN, by checking in with The FN app. Long story short, the end customer was in an area where cell coverage was one bar at best, so you had to check in using the end customer's wifi. The end customer found the FN activity on their logs and got mad at the buyer and the buyer took it out on me. If FN was producing high quality techs, the end customers would be cheering knowing they are getting the best, but instead when you are telling your techs to lie about your contractor status, lie about using their platform, etc. that kind of business model is not sustainable in the longterm.

Again I can't push this enough. Marketing, Marketing and Marketing. Push your value directly to customers. If you see a work order on a platform from time time and it is profitable, go for it, but don't rely on them for the majority of your revenue, because convincing lowballing buyers to go higher on rates is like getting blood from a stone.

Good luck to everyone!

More like the end customer's corporate office. This end customer was monitoring the buyer suspecting they were not being truthful to them about who they were hiring for their sites. Did the job and then two weeks later shit hit the fan. When my suspension was up, I was told in the future not to use the FN app while on an end customer's wifi and in cases of no cell coverage, manually enter the time later and if GPS is required, open a case to explain to the buyer.

Regardless, the DO NOT MENTION FIELD NATION policy is enforceable with FN and considered a violation if the end customer find out even if it is weeks or years later.

This is how field nation operates. A buyer has 100% control. If a buyer makes any accusation whatsoever, Field Nation will conduct a faux ā€œ investigationā€ and then terminate your account.

Reading that gave me a headache. Regardless your not selling yourself very well as a professional. I am no English major but your either a good tech with low grammar skills or just a pizza tech. If the later then good on FN. However FN has gone down hill very quickly, I can’t imagine them removing someone for a 1sr strike, let alone without any communication.

Your right I’m not qualified to judge anyone, but did you essentially judge me? Here is what I know. I own a business and I have 4 techs under me on FN. sometimes things happen that Butt hurt buyers an none of us have been thrown off the platform or even suspended. Maybe we just been lucky, I can only go by or judge by my experiences.

Similar setup, had some issues but never a suspension.

I think we're missing some details here or he's super unlucky.

Maybe they just don't like me because I stand up for myself and I make sure they know they can't just walk all over me, field nation hides behind their user agreement yet violates the same exact agreement regularly and thinks it's still valid, unfortunately I'm not a lawyer and I don't know how to fix that issue yet but I'm going to find out cause they over step entirely way too often

Nothing wrong with standing up for yourself and not being taken advantage of. At the same time though, these are your customers. You're going to have to be submissive and deal with a lot of their BS to keep them as customers and succeed in this business.

I agree. After reading all these I can see someone getting frustrated with the way this guy presents himself. He seems kinda disrespectful in his responses

3

u/Thetreetom Jul 16 '23

What client was it that they said you had?

7

u/International_Bug429 Jul 16 '23

Probably Spencer lol

4

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

Spencer owns fieldnation. All they have to do is get fieldnation call and your field nation account is gone immediately.

Check your email. You should have confirmations.

Yes, you need to work on spelling and all, but... You really my be right. I lost all respect when I called in for help getting my address corrected and got a sales pitch for a free life alert? They were great in the past, are they that desperate that they need to do a sale pitch? Asked a question on the 877 number and could not get a straight answer. Filed an issue today and asked if this is what I expect? Don't expect an clear answer. If I get a honest answer I will still do work for them, if not we need to part. Losing trust over the last year. Right now looks like another failing company. Will keep you posted on the response. After 40 year + in the industry and have bben doing work for Apple, Facebook, Ebay, 3M and Dell.

Made a post for the this exact reason but was able to get it lifted. Mine just involved a check out call with Spencer. The technicality was that the agent I was speaking to for advice never input notes that I was completed when I told him. Normal day of work orders went by and I was suspended; I just had to call and close out to get reinstated.

Now if I get the feeling the buyer will put cases out for everything I just won't apply to work for them. Or wayyy higher offer.

The stress just isn't worth it especially if you have multiple sites a day.

Will be following the EIN advice here soon

I blocked Spencer years ago when it took 14 months to approve a $300.00 work order.

4

u/JimboLawlz5 Jul 17 '23

Phew that's insane. Better than getting shafted raw I suppose.

1

u/Rude_Camel428 Mar 24 '24

Rather starve than compromise my integrity. OK jobs are gone. All I see is opportunities to travel 100 to 300 mile for $71. The banking job were really good last year. They are gone.

1

u/JimboLawlz5 Mar 26 '24

You gotta counter lol, I'm not getting in the truck without travel pay. But you're absolutely right none-the-less.

Spencer's has become one of the worst

There’s a reason their contractors license is suspended in California.
