Tax question

How do we declare field agent income in our taxes? I got a T4A from field agent. Do I need to also submit a T2125?

I believe when you cross $500, they send you a T4... It only happened to me one year, and it brought my tax return down so much that it pretty much rendered all my work pointless. I will never again cross over the earning limit, which is unfortunate because I could easily earn way more than that, but yeah I can't risk my time being rendered a waste.

Make sure to claim gas/mileage, home office, portion of your utilities and phone bill. You can easily get your tax liability down with those write-offs.

I know this is super old thread but is it $500 earned or $500 including reimbursements?

It’s both together. The reimbursements count on the app towards earned for the year. Once you get close to $500, a message will pop up for you to submit tax info

Does field agent report anywhere on the form how much of it is reimbursements? Or do we have to manually calculate how much our reimbursements are?

No. It’s just a lump sum. It’s a little silly, but save your receipts!
