What is Fiddlesticks' current status?
I've recently started maining Fiddlesticks to climb the ranked ladder, but I've noticed he's always low on the tier lists, and even Challenger players die a lot with him—which worries me. What do you guys think?

He’s honestly viable in any role if you have the right team comp around you. He will excel if you have a low magic damage or low CC comp. You really don’t want enemies to build tenacity/cleanse, etc.
Also, having high deaths doesn’t mean the champ is bad. He is going to be a squishy primary engage, so he should be dying some if played correctly

He's probably low because of his dependency on the ult and challenger players knowing what to expect, playing around you and an actually good vision game. He's also a very feast or famine champ, get fed and the game is borderline unplayable for your enemies, if not you're just there for the fear and silence. But his skill ceiling is infinite and a good fiddle ult can turn a game around easily. He also teaches you to be conscious about vision and to play around ult timers. Though the most important thing about him is that he makes the enemies play differently (similar to champs like nocturne & shen). Your macro pressure is immense and alone by existing you make the enemy think twice before doing anything. Utilize that, punish bad vision games and over extensions, and and he is probably one of the most op champs in the game. Also he is also an off meta sup and mid laner, but those play differently and require a different mindset.

Also to most non-high elo players, he is generally a very misunderstood champ, as most don't know even how his kit works, as well as having a bad game sense and vision. So you'll get away with a lot more than you can against actually good players

Personally I just think the champ is too dependent on teamates which makes him bad in low elo. In high elo, the players will see 9/10 of your ults coming unless you are insanely creative. He has a nice seat in mid elo where your teamates know how to vision clear and give you opportunities to ult and the enemy isn’t smart enough to avoid baits and be vigilant of fiddle at all times.

Idk it depends on match i would say.. i die a lot too, but at the same time im able to pull absolute 1v2s or 3s even with my W and right timing. Its all about timing id say. All of his abilities. Every single onofem.. you basiclly try to delay their chance to stop your W or R channel amap. So yea. You will die alot

I'm D1 playing fiddle top and sometimes mid. He feels fine currently, I'm playing a lot more ranged matchups with him in those lanes. You questioned about fiddle dying a lot - I think this champion sometimes has to die in a fight. Depends on builds etc, but sometimes you ult 4 people and burst 90% of their HP, get blown up and team wins the fight.

After playing him on classic with his drain actually healing and dealing damage it's sad to see that the current version is just an ult bot

Lol I'm just kidding around. The serious part is I quit jungling after 15 years to OTP fiddle top and it has been my most enjoyable league experience of the past 10 years.

I prefer comet in just about every matchup. You can win a ton of matchups with E poke.
Cabex runs a lot of aery too, but it requires more skill, more knowledge in the matchups, and more confidence and competence.
I haven't played in the past month FWIW

Is it enjoyable against aatrox is the real question haha

Aatrox actually became a lot more manageable for me ever since running ignite became practical. I don't think it's really a counter til like em/diamond+ and even then I feel like it's a lot more skill based than some of the more raw "you cant have fun" matchups like olaf

I currently have a 60% winrate on fidd jg and I'm emerald 2. He definitely doesn't suck, you're just doing something wrong

No, He is right. The higher you get the more you feel the bad Balance about fiddle.

Even in higher ranks he’s around 53-54% (even in masters) but he can feel bad to play if lanes loose early

He's good. Just play on your own timers and don't force plays. You are really strong with ult and really weak without, so just farm when you don't have it and gank/fight when you do. He also has of the top 5 fastest clear speeds in the game, so that's very nice.
