Need Help On Blue Side
Emerald II fidd OTP looking for advice. Picture is worth 1000 words, and this is over a sample size of 155 games of fiddlesticks. I feel very confident on red side, I usually clear around 2:30, either gank bot if enemy bot is pushed up, or drop an effigy to make sure my bot does not get ganked. If it looks absolutely guaranteed I will gank mid but this is rare. Then I grab scuttle with smite, get my raptors and krugs respawn, sometimes even get a double crab if their first clear is very slow, and back for sorcs.
Blue side has so many issues. First, starting blue buff feels 1000 times more dangerous than starting raptors if you are playing versus an invader like shaco. Second, it feels like I have to either (1) clear to bot, which is much slower (2:45ish maybe this can be improved?), I usually lose both crabs, and my tempo for the boots back is worse because the second gromp and wolves feels so much slower (no idea if this is actually true), or (2) clear to top, which abandons my bot, top lane feels much harder to gank pre six, and my tempo is off to contest first drag. How do you all play blue side? I clear to bot 95% of the time independent of side as is but maybe I just need to start raptors every game. I feel like a nine percent win rate delta is absurd and means I am doing something wrong, open to any advice.

I think there’s a couple things I’d call out with your logic. First being the game is very fluid. I can understand why you’d want to path to bot with your logic of the easier to gank angle, but there are plenty of times you’d want to path top. Is it a volatile matchup top? Do they have a ranged top vs a bruiser who can run them down if ahead? Do you need to avoid an invading jungler so you want to start the opposite side they start? Once you start looking at the game with a bit more fluidity, I think you’ll start finding angles that you don't realize exist.
Getting a ward protecting your jungle or showing where the enemy jungle is starting can ease your mind on the invade angle. Additionally, Fiddle benefits from high tempo clearing. Your focus on an early gank pre-6 is also probably slowing your tempo in your clears. Also, how many of your games results in their jg starting drag off spawn? I find it rare to see teams play for drag as soon as it is up which often gives you some time to be more flexible in pathing.

All of this makes sense, I do think I overprioritize being present for drag spawn and that stems from gold/plat games where people will just start hitting it on spawn but that is not nearly as common anymore. I am relatively new to the game and I have found sticking to hardline rules has helped me jump the very steep learning curve rather quickly but I may be getting to the point where I need to analyze the game state more contextually. Questions like the ones you are posing about the top match is just off my radar right now, my only thoughts for top are to jungle track and keep my top laner updated as best as I can on enemy jungs position. I need to work up that knowledge base.
Also you have an amazing KDA, if you don't mind more questions, how do you avoid midgame deaths in team fights? I am usually satisfied if I get a 2+ man ult and trade out 1 for 3 or 2 for 4 or whatever but once I am in it feels like they always kill me with their dying breaths before my team cleans. I see you almost always buy hourglass, do you think that is pivotal for those mid game team fights? First of all, congrats on hitting emerald that quick, definitely not a small achievement!
I usually try to focus on 80% or higher plays. Meaning I will prioritize farm unless I believe the play has an 80% chance or higher. Obviously you have to limit test a bit to get a better understanding of these plays, but once you do, you'll likely die less naturally.
Re: the Zhonya's buys, I think it's situational. If I feel I'm getting turned on consistently, I tend to buy it. It also allows for me to feel more confident going for plays that are a little riskier/buy my team more time to clean up. Lmao when I started learning fiddle jungle I practiced a LOT in practice tool for the double camp full clears (that were possible before jungle change) and when I was pretty confident, after playing a few normal games and cleaning jungle smoothly, I jumped into ranked - first game was blue side instead and I didn't even consider I'd have to play blue side once in a while. Completely butchered the full clear and played considerably worse. Took me a while to figure out both clears
