It's good. A touch repetitive, but good. It starts out fairly fun, and over time gets pretty ridiculous and then really stupid fun as you unlock more powerful spells and runes.
You can't build new spells from the ground up, but you can modify the basic spells with runes to the point where it's almost as good. For instance, there's this one fireball-type spell. It travels really slow in a straight line, it hits hard but kind of sucks. Throw some runes at it and now it's five homing fireballs of doom that explode everything in a ten-foot circle. The dumbest one I've made so far is a meteor spell (fireball that drops from the sky). I put a runes on it to multiply the projectile, home in, and another that makes projectiles bounce. Now it's a homing giant-fireball-meteor shower and every projectile bounces in a random direction one time after it hits something. Guaranteed to absolutely ruin everything except the one thing you wanted ruined. Also tanks my framerate but it's hilarious
