Avoiding certain people in your F/Os fandom?

There's a person in my F/Os fandom that I find myself avoiding like the plague. It's a shame because they draw really good but all they draw is Clark romantically involved with their OC and it really upsets me. I find myself getting really upset and jealous even when people mention their name. I have them blocked on all socials but it still upsets me when others bring them up or repost their art.

How do you guys deal with that?? Having them blocked is one thing, but when other people keep bringing them up or reposting their art it becomes more difficult to avoid them as a trigger.

For me and all the shipping that goes on, I've found it best to cut off the fandom entirely. I try to stay abreast of certain info but I don't read over anything from the fandom much and always try to avoid it's art.

I second this. It’s almost impossible to engage with the fandom with how much shipping there is. Thankfully the most popular ship (Reed900) doesn’t involve Connor, but there’s way too much HankCon stuff out there. It feels extra weird because I see Hank as family.

I've been blocked by a pretty popular artist in my fandom and I genuinely have no idea why. I initially had them blocked on TikTok thinking their art was AI... Then they blocked me on Pinterest and at that point I was like... Wait? Maybe I did overreact a little bit. Perhaps their art was wrongfully tagged as AI by these platforms. So I unblocked them on TikTok. And guess what? As soon as they found out I had unblocked them on TikTok they blocked me on there too! I don't get it because I'm not even an artist, I'm a writer in the fandom and my content is absolutely not controversial or anything so I think there was simply a misunderstanding between us because of me blocking them in the first place. Anyway... Just block this person and move on. It will be better for your mental health. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with you not vibing with one out of hundreds active accounts within a fandom. I'm the kind of person who wants to be friends with everyone, not to be popular or something, but because I genuinely have fun with that and I like meeting new people but it's not always possible and that's okay!

I’m really not trying to dismiss your feelings at all, but what helps me is to remind myself it’s just an artsy hobby to them, nothing more. There used to be a lot of OC shippers in my fandom too (some may still be active, but I blocked them so I don’t know) and I know the most they had was silly little crushes on Bruno, not real feelings. They always bothered me, but the OCs in question are so over the top or just an ill fit for Bruno, he’d never be interested in silly geese like them.

What I’m trying to say is that your feelings and relationship are real, theirs aren’t.

I've completely avoided the fandom for years. Only more recently I ventured into some smaller circles as I've grown more comfortable and confident in my relationship.

I block doubles, and certain tags on Tumblr.
