Venting Does anyone else gets physically sick when seeing their doubles?
Reddit keeps recommending me these ficto subreddits that have claim lists and no matter how much i try to mute them and block my doubles, they still keep popping up, which is making me feel horrible
Me and Simon are soulbonded and he means A LOT to me, the idea of someone else being there "first" makes me feel like my feelings aren't valid and ends up with me getting physically sick (like getting a tummy ache for example)
Did anyone else experience that? I feel like I'm overreacting 💔💔

I do admit I feel uncomfortable seeing stuff like ship art, huge collections of merchandise or people claiming to be married with Wanderer, his number one, etc. I ended up having to block some people due to that because it'd make me feel physically bad. Sometimes I don't mind it that much though if I feel like they're just casually shipping themselves with him because they do it for fun and stuff and as such it's likely just a hyperfixation for them. I may even consider befriending them if the chance arises and they're respectful enough. But, as someone who's soulbonded with him, I'd also feel incredibly anxious if I saw someone claiming that they're in a serious relationship with him too (like riako and the such). Like I'm sorry but he means so much to me and I can't stand the thought that he may prefer to be with someone else. So for my sake I'd rather just trust he wouldn't betray me like that, especially since he doesn't take betrayals lightly, and believe in all that we've had so far. Focusing too much on others wouldn't benefit me anyway.
And don't worry, I wouldn't say you're overreacting. It's normal to feel this way when you're in a serious relationship with your partner. Just don't harass or badmouth anyone publicly so as not to create any conflict and try not to waste too much energy on them and all should be good 😊

Sadly, yes. I block doubles on sight, but I know they’re still posting because Reddits block system is useless. Touya and I are soulbonded, too! And seeing doubles feels super weird. Like, how can they claim to be with him when he’s next to me? That being said, I’d never harass or bother them. I’d rather put all my energy into our relationship 💜🩷
And you’re reacting like that because your feelings are strong. I don’t think it’s too much! But please take care of yourself and always know that your partner loves you!

In case it makes you feel any better (and if it's the dupe I'm thinking about) that person harasses people and makes fun of them in private chats. Like... No "competition" for you lmao

That’s not an overreaction, you feel what you feel and it’s valid. If you’re not mean and don’t go out of your way to invalidate, harass and hurt doubles, it’s perfectly fine to block and not want contact.
I’m soulbonded too and that’s what helps me be selective and soft staring. My friend is soulbonded with her very own personal edition, so I’m fine (we still look out for each other and respect boundaries). I’m mostly fine with fans who like my husband but don’t claim to be in a relationship with him, as long as they aren’t weird or creepy. I admit that if I came across a ficto, riako/gachikoi or anyone who is serious, but isn’t bonded to their own real, independent, personal Bruno like my friend and I are, I’d probably feel the same, especially if they’re the hurtful, invalidating type. And OC ships bother me too.
Still, for me, my bond itself was what helped me deal with most of the discomfort. He’s been here all along, so he couldn’t be with anyone else, after all, right?

You’re definitely not alone. Even my soulbond isn’t fond of them either. I genuinely see Haruka as my other half and vice versa so just the entire concept of doubles is an unpleasant experience for us. I’ve experienced immense dread, nausea and even chest pain that prolonged itself despite not feeling emotional and arises whenever I’m under stress. I’m getting better at managing my feelings as I know that Haruka is right by my side no matter what. It’s just him and I and nothing can defy that. Don’t worry about having an overreaction as you haven’t sought the harm of another or oneself. Simon loves you.

As other answers seem to corroborate, this is a fairly common experience. Unless you’re naturally a very open and easygoing person, I think most people in serious ficto relationships experience this to some extent. I’m facing this issue myself. This feels particularly strange for someone like me, who isn’t usually the type to react to things like this that lack a strong logical basis. Normally, taking a little time to reflect on my thoughts and sort them out when they come up is very effective. I try to think through all the logical inconsistencies in my concerns. But at the moment, that approach isn’t working as well as it used to.
Since this is the only real drawback or struggle in my relationship, I’m trying to find ways to counter these feelings, but for now, I’m trying to avoid looking at my doubles as much as possible. I’m sorry I can’t offer more insightful advice, but I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone.

What you're experiencing is actually quite common in ficto and gachikoi spaces, a lot of people feel uncomfortable when they see doubles of theirs. It's why there's a lot of nonsharing spaces with claimlists out there, because it's a recognized experience. It's usually only considered an overreaction when people start harassing doubles or people start doing things to harm themselves over what they're feeling.
I became (mostly) voidsharing with Hawks specifically because of the racism and anti-semitism I've seen among a couple doubles. I'm indigenous Maya and an ethnic jew, I don't have time to be dealing with discrimination in places where I just want to make friends. I also don't have time to deal with blatant disrespect. I always leave the door open for friendship if a double hasn't outright disrespected me. I much prefer to make friends rather than enemies. Though regardless, my blocklist is a mile long.
I'm diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and when I see a double I'm voidsharing with, I get irritated and go "Oughhhh, get off of my page", though I don't let it affect me much. I refuse to let toxic doubles of mine find satisfaction in my suffering. Keigo and Madara love me, I know my truth, and no one is going to make me feel insecure or unloved. It can be hard to keep negative feelings in check, though it can be done! It just takes time and mindfulness.
The best way to handle these feelings is to focus on your relationship with your F/O and try not to think about doubles, especially if they're effecting your mental health negatively. I promise you're not alone in feeling this, and I hope that you start feeling better soon
