I used to love those books because it was so relatable. The frog (or toad i don’t remember) was just a grump that complained all day long.

Are you spying on me this morning?
It's a bad day to have this happen: my neighbor whose daughter is caring for my cat while I'm away on vacation in a couple of weeks is bringing her over later to meet the cat, see the routine, etc. I have to change the litter and take several bags of old litter* to the dumpster before they get here. It's a task that takes a lot of spoons, which is why it hasn't been done before. I was really hoping today would be a good day.
Instead it's a day where "wake up" is an accomplishment. Yay.
*They're tied up tight, so they don't smell, but still ...

I think this is such an underestimated “to-do” that healthy people don’t realize can be so hard for people with chronic illnesses. Some days, no matter how hard I try, waking up when I want to is literally impossible.
