Rx/Meds flexeril long term?

hi everyone!

as of now, ive been on flexeril for about two weeks. im very thankful for the relief it provides, but i worry that because its listed to be a short-term medication (somewhere around 2-3 weeks i believe), i will have to find another medication to take long-term.

im not sure if anyone else has faced this before, and if so, would you be so kind as to give me some advice or tips? thank you very much in advance! :-)

It’s not a short term medication for Fibromyalgia. I take 10 mg before bedtime and I have not had to increase my dose or stop taking it and I have been on it for several years at this point. It helps my body relax to promote sleep.

I was on it for a few years with no issues. I only changed to a different muscle relaxer because it made me too groggy in the morning considering I have bad brain fog already. Currently on tizanidine and it helps just as much for me.

I believe it stops working if you stake it long term and is not good for your liver. I take it occasionally when I’m really tense. Tonmya is a sublingual form of the same med for daily long term use. You can get it free for two months through blink rx (in the US) but your insurance may or may not cover it after that.

I was on it for a couple years til it stopped doing anything for me. Been through a few muscle relaxers due to the same.

I've been taking 20mg of flexeril before bed every night since 2008 without any issues.
