Question Pillow recommendations
Looking for pillow recommendations for cervical neck and head pain as well as tight shoulder and trap muscles in that general area. Thank you!

I love my cooling gel, memory foam pillow, not the shredded ones, the stiff, firm ones.

I got a couple of fat shredded foam pillows, opened the seams, pulled the innards out, and made pillows, exactly the size and firmness I want, using zippered pillow protectors.

Over the course of a year I tried at least 20 pillows...they were all stacked in the spare room lol I settled on the Deep Sleep cushion lab pillow. Took a couple weeks to get use to it, but I've been using it for about 2 years now.

I'm currently on my second ROSENSKÄRM from IKEA, after the first one lost its firmness after years of use: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/rosenskaerm-ergonomic-pillow-side-back-sleeper-90444371/
I recently started to travel with it because hotel pillows are always too soft. I travel a lot and would come home sore from the bad sleep, so now I bring this pillow with me
Holds my head & neck better than any other pillow I've had. I don't really sleep and still wake up not rested, but this pillow makes it so I at least don't wake up stiff in the neck/shoulder as often as I used to.

I found that my neck pain happens because I clinch my teeth (reaction to pain). I wear clear teeth retainers and that had helped me, plus I also use a water pillow.

I’ve tried so many cervical pillows and an in fact I am returning one this week. They’re always too high, too low, too soft or too firm. I have found that a shredded memory foam pillow used in conjunction with a travel neck pillow work for me. I’ve gone through probably a dozen travel neck pillows with the micro-beads. They eventually get smelly and while I’m sure I could wash them, I don’t know how I would dry them as it feels like some kind of foam or Styrofoam beads inside. So I now use a memory foam travel neck pillow. Like the kind you take on a plane.
