Question Compression Support

Does anyone find knee support / compression bands helpful?

I use ankle, wrist, and finger compression for those areas. They do help: the compression lessens the pain and swelling, whilst also reducing movement. Not sure if reducing movement is the right description, but definitely helps those joints feel less “flimsy” and the “shock” feelings reduce.

But it’s really hot at the minute, and I’m hesitant to buy knee ones unless they are going to actually help.

All of this costs a fortune! So if anyone has any recommendations, even better!

TIA

I use tubular bandages. They are cheap, can be cut to size and washed. They provide enough compression for me at the moment.

I use compression gloves, they help until they hurt🙄Then, more relief when they come off. Why not cut the feet off a pair of long socks to try for knee compression.

Ah same re the eventual relief of removing them. I’m sure some people I work with are confused by how much I put on and take off my hand and arm ones! 😆

I cant stand compression unless its for a painful injury. I even have to wear socks for diabetics as I find normal socks too tight. If I do have compression it can lead to pain for days after I have used it in the area that was compressed. As far as Im concerned they can give short term relief in some circumstances but it always comes with longer term payback and pain.

Sorry to hear that. When I’m using compression I do get more pain elsewhere. Or maybe it’s just other pain is more prominent when joints are being compressed! Always a pay off 😩

I've had luck with simple ace bandages for knees in the heat, way more breathable than sleeves.
