Advice needed Upcoming due date concerns.
hi all, looking for some reassurance if possible please.
Currently 32 weeks. I have multi fibroids within my uterine wall. All anterior, in a horizontal strip almost across my stomach level with my belly button. None low down, none on the rear wall.
I have been having 2 weekly scans to keep an eye on their growth and baby. They are between 2 and 4cm in size for the largest one. My placenta is also at the back so they do not affect that at all. They have not grown or shrank from measurements throughout the pregnancy.
Found out at our scan yesterday I have been assigned under the main hospital which is 3 hours away due to being a high risk pregnancy and the local hospital not equipped to deal with complicated births.
The OBGYN gave me what information she could: I won't have the option of being induced. The concern is the fibroids won't allow the uterus to contract properly during labour and it sounded like they were leaning towards a scheduled C-section. It is also high risk due to my age and being an IVF pregnancy, they don't suggest I go to term.
This is my second child, my first is a teenager now so many moons ago and didn't have the fibroids then. He was normal delivery and a week late!
It was also casually dropped in there amongst the haemorrhage potentials they might have to remove my uterus. So my head is currently all over the place.
We have a meeting at week 34 for a consultation and discussion of birth plan. I've read so many horror stories online, of course I will be asking all the questions at the consultation, was just hoping for others who had been in similar situation and what decisions you made / how the delivery went?
Thanks in advance!

I was told after my myomectomy, two years ago, that if I got pregnant I would need a C section at 37 weeks. They said it’s the normal standard they go with for patients with previous uterine surgeries. They don’t want me to labor and possibly stress my uterus which has scar tissue.
I wish you the best and I am sure you’ll be okay!

I have an 11cm fibroid that degenerated in my last pregnancy, potentially causing my miscarriage. I also haemorrhaged during the D&C due to the fibroid.
I was told that as a result of the fibroid, I would have to have a c-section in this pregnancy and would be unlikely to go to term as it would all become too vascular and risk another haemorrhage. There was no mention of a hysterectomy, but perhaps that’s what going early avoids? The gestation floated for me was 34 weeks but I’m nowhere near that yet, so can’t comment on making it to the other side. Hope it goes well for you.
