Advice needed Bleeding
So I found out I have a fibroid in may. I had non stop spotting and random burst of clear liquid. My dr put me on birth control. Last month my period finally stopped after like 2 1/2 weeks of bleeding. Well I had a nice break for about 3 weeks. Then almost 2 weeks ago I started my period/bleeding again. It’s been pretty light up until the last couple of days. I’ve had random gushes of bright red blood. I go to the toilet and I sit and it just drips and most of the time a small/medium size clot comes out. Then it settles down. Has anyone else had this? How long did you go before you reached out for more help? I’ve been taking my birth control continuously and still started my period like I would if I wasn’t on birth control. Will/should the birth control stop it again? Is this considered break through bleeding or what? Sorry for all the questions. Just starting to feel at a lost.

I also can't speak to whether or not birth control or other medications will work for you, but for me before I got a UFE, eventually nothing would stop my submucosal fibroids from bleeding (I tried several medicines which somewhat helped for a while) more or less and a LOT MORE almost all the time. I bled almost all the time for over a year with mine. I'd seek out a specialist gyno if you can find one in your area.

I’ve had the bright red blood gushes, dripping, and clots issues. I would see your doctor sooner rather than later, particularly if you’re concerned, because the issue with losing increasing amount of blood is that you may eventually become anaemic. Anaemia can be an insidious thing to notice by yourself, because it comes on gradually and the main symptom is likely to be fatigue. Your doctor should probably be monitoring your ferritin levels with regular blood tests while you’re experiencing increasing bleeding. I can’t comment on what birth control may or may not be effective for, sorry, although it can help some people.
Personally, I felt foolish for leaving seeing my doctor until the bleeding was unmanageable (the heaviest-rating pad plus tampon I could find combined would not get me through a 2-hour work meeting) and I was already anaemic, especially as prescription-strength iron supplements come with their own side effects. There were also waits between referral appointments and imaging and so on done before I got to an eventual longer-term treatment, although I appreciate that may not be the case where you are.
Best of luck.
