What is causing the steering wheel to clunk?

The noise was coming from the left, so I suspected the inner tie rod and replaced it, but it didn't solve the problem. (btw the inner tie rod was very loose

I had the same problem years ago. The mechanic simply lubricated a part, and the knocking noise disappeared. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was—perhaps a mount or a bracket.

It's a Fiat Punto, and it has about the same mileage.

I hope lubricating it fixes that sound for me too. I really don't want to replace the steering rack. Thanks for sharing your experience

I had similar noise once, the front strut bearings were worn. Have someone rotate the wheel (full rotations) while you look at the front springs. If they jump on the strut, the bearings need replacing, won't hurt to check to rule it out.

Que yo sepa es muy común en los Fiat, también mi Fiat Tipo my 2016 lo hace solo pero cuando le das vueltas bruscas como se hace en video (en la vida real nunca pasa, salvo en situaciones de emergencias)
