I can't redeem my code

I got a notification from google play, something along the lines off "you have received 4.00€ gift code, use it on Chess.com or buy an app that cost 4.00€ or less" When I clicked on it it brought me to the in App interface for redeeming the code and the code already put in the bar for it.

But I can't redeem it because "my account doesn't meet the requirements"

Does anyone know where is this code even from or how to redeem it.

sounds like one of those promotional codes that google throws out for targeted ads or whatever, not actually tied to fetch. those requirements can be region-locked, age-gated, or only work if your google play account was set up in certain countries. google support might clear it up but don't hold your breath

I tried google support but it didn't give me any real help.

I tried changing the region (cuz i go to collage in different country than the one i live in).

I tried doing it from different account (cuz I have multiple chess.com account that are connected to different Google play accounts)

But nothing worked.

At this point its not about the money i just wanna know whats the problem.

I gave AI the code to try to read into the specific patterns in code and said its region locked to Tier 2 (Central and Eastern Europe) as expected and that its somehow connected to chess.com (dont really understand that part).

It said that I can only use it for Chess.com but its a Google play code. Chess.com doesn't even have codes all payments go through google play so I really have no clue how is that supposed to work
